Bought the S6 4k drone last week for under $129. Did the firmware update and this thing is a blast to fly. I wanted it for hiking and carrying on my motorcycle trips. So far the average is about 8 minutes flying time per battery which is perfect for what I am doing with it. I also have a Breeze 4k but for portability and fun the Breeze is going to get dusty sitting on the shelf.

That is a sexy looking drone, and they do a wonderful job with the packaging. I'm honestly blown away. The price is very generous, too. Considering I want to get into racing, I just don't think it'd be wise to spend $500 on the Spark. However, I hate the phone controls. I do not like this trend of using your phone as a controller. It's a dealbreaker for me, now. No controller, no buy.

Those motors look like JMT brushless 1104s and sounds like they are running 4000 or 5250kv. The ultrasonic sensor is probably an older HC-SR04.

I've eyed this drone for a couple of years now. Like you I love it's aesthetics but all other reviews have really panned its reliability to actually do what it's supposed to do. For this reason, I bought the Dobby. The Dobby seemed to be a better overall performer but I eventually sold it because like others have said, I just couldn't get into using virtual controlls on the phone. I just need to have a real transmitter which Wingsland has promised for the S6. Maybe version two will fix all of the problems but for now, I think the Spark or the Cheerson CX-23 are better options depending on what you plan to use it for.

Outdoor edition or the newer version, i see it's $199 so i assume outdoor edition..P.s. don't try to fly the outdoor edition inside. The sensors on the bottom don't work.

Hey Dustin did you update the flight controller, app, and camera. The flight controller and camera needs to be done on SD card. I️ have one and since all the updates it flys great. 11/20/17 the new updates came out. Awesome review Dustin. Thanks

I've seen other reviews on this drone and it's not very stable, it's actually pretty dangerous. The boom boom gun is probably the selling point which is ridiculous. I wouldn't waste my money on this drone.

Just picked this up for $33 shipped! I think that's a steal! Any idea where to get the little accessories (boom boom and light)? Also do you know if a controller was ever released? Or any controller that works with it?

The controller for it is the R6, but good luck finding one! The drone goes WAY faster with the controller and flies really well. Battery life is the biggest problem with the S6. The controller becomes what you connect the phone to rather than the drone. The controller then connects to the drone so the range becomes about 1KM LOS.

For 33 bucks it's alright, but this drone is a piece, the battery life is terrible, the camera without a gimbal is terrible, without a controller it may as well be a paperweight. That being said, this was my entry into gps drones, now i have way more than I ever thought I would. The best thing this drone did was introduce me to Dustin's channel.

@@keithy4129 Yeah, I like my DJI Mini 2 a lot more obviously.That said I do like the S6. Some day when we can buy better batteries and get 30 minutes flight out of it the pocketability will keep it on my list. Of course, DJI drones would fly for like 2 hours on the same scale of battery breakthrough.

This little drone has so much potential. But poor battery flight time, and poor outdoor performance ( wind) brings it down. The price point is also way too high for this little drone. IMHO. Good review.

I just love the Dustin Dunnill brand reviews! Doesn't matter what drone it is really always a good watch. Cool gun and light features. Good picture quality but very bad stability! Very slow flight. Defiantly just a portable selfie drone nothing impressive about the flying really. Always look forward to more reviews.

Dustin Dunnill thanks Dustin:) I didn't even realise it was so long! Kick back. Press the stream to TV button (pronounced with the tt just like you) and time just flies by! I can imagine it taking you ages to film and edit the videos. But you do a great job of it! 40 minutes on this little selfie drone is a tall feat actually. I would happily donate the first £10 to get you an Inspire 2. If everyone else just did £1/€1/$1 you could have the review ready in no time! Keep it up (in your own time) p.s. Is this your full time job now? I'm curious about how you got to this point without being nosey. Thanks for everything:)👍

Great Idea. I'd love to start reviewing some of the next tier drones like the Inspire2 etc but they are definitely out of budget unless DJI starts sending me samples. I still "re invest" and buy a lot of what I review if acquiring samples is not an option. I haven't started a "fund me" account but maybe I should think about it. Otherwise if anyone want's to donate to the channel they can donate through my main youtube page or through paypal atozpc.dustin@gmail.com. I started this channel just as a spot to share my passion for RC & Tech. I'm a full time GIS Analyst at my regular job so RU-vid is still a part time passion for now. Perhaps down the line I can do it full time (a dream come true). I try to really convey what an owner of the product may go through or need to watch out for. It does take more time but I truly believe in "quality not quantity" and it's proven to be a good mantra thus far 👍.

Dustin Dunnill I think it's great. I would really like to make some reviews myself however I prefer just watching yours😀 (/ others) the media presence and all the editing that goes into it puts me off with no experience. I can fully appreciate the hard work and passion needed to make such a feature... every week! To "sell out" with a fund me account can look bad but on this occasion I think a specific DJI Inspire 2 with X7 camera and lense kit is a great idea because it is worth £10,000 ish! Not many people can put that down but lots of small donations can pay for an amazing 4 part feature it would be well well worth it in my opinion! Cheaper than a DVD still! I would be putting in for this specifically if you can put something together or I can on your behalf somehow and the link can be promoted alongside your other videos? It's a working progress with a lot of consideration needed on your behalf. You totally deserve a random donation or 2 for your work otherwise though 😀👍 I will happily kick off the Inspire 2, X7 and lense kit fund with a £10 donation. (1/1000 of the cost) The range test is worth the £10 itself in my opinion!

I can see you. Compare the w 6 to the Dobby but not to the dji spark unless the quad has a nice 2 or 3 ax gamble I have a spark and nothing i have can compare to it not even my breeze 4K

Dustin I just returned a MavM because of lack of GPS stabilization and the last few YTubes I’ve watch they seemed to all have similar problems someone’s messing with them back to cross track error fly with out the GPS’s

Hi, great services, very professional, well set up. Can you tell me how to make the flash work? In the application v. 2.1 there is no more voice and with photos on "auto" even in complete darkness the flash remains off. The drone is on, maybe it should have taken off?

Have you tried it again since all the updates came out? Or did it already have all the updates when you did this video. I only ask because I just got one and ran the updates and mine doesn't do all that up and down stuff going on. But then again it wasn't windy when I flew it either. I've heard a lot of bad things about the S6 but all of them are from around mid to earlier 2017. I'm just hoping it better now in late 2018. Hopefully I'll get out soon and put mine through the ringer and see how it goes. Also, you haven't tried it with the R6 controller have you? If I keep mine I might give that a try since I'm not crazy about controlling through my cell.

INFO : derived from Facebook Wingsland S6 User Group :- Upgrade firmware, set phone onto flight mode , enable wifi and connect to Wingsland , do calibration , fly in wind speeds less than 5Mph After this please do an updated review after determining which version of Wingsland S6 you have as there are 2 versions , Advanced which has version has password as wingsland and Ultrasonic altimeter and Optical Flow Sensor enabled for altitude hold bbetween 0.7 to 2.5 Meters , after this it uses barometer and GPS . the other( OUTDOOR VERSION) with password of 12345678 has these sensors disabled and only uses barometer for altitude hold, might be a good idea to add some fome on top of the barometer in anycase.

ciao, io ho acquistato questo drone, volevo chiederti una cosa, se riesci a rispondere,; dopo pochi secondi che lo accendo mi dice che la batteria è scarica e automaticamente atterra. Spengo tutto, riaccendo tutto e mi segnala batteria al 95%. Allora riparto e dopo pochi secondi si ripete la cosa: batteria scarica, atterra autonomamente. E così praticamente infinite volte. Secondo te è un problema di batteria o di software? ti ringrazio anticipatamente.

This review is unfortunately worth a rubbish. Why? Because you were testing a pocket drone designed for just selfie camera purpose in very strong wind and treated it like regular DJI heavy UAV with a weight to compensate the wind and twice more technology stuffed into it. What you can expect from 100dollar pocket lite drone weights less than a leaf 🍂 in that sort of wind ..? Your review should be more objective. Fro me as a portable drone it still preformed not bad apart to follow up function with camera not pointing on you.
