On that first starting hand, I would be tempted to take a 2 turn setback to draw Flycatcher and get food for it. Play both Robin and flycatcher in grassland and cycle for another good bird.
In the last discussed start, why not keep the nuthatch? I know that it's difficult to draw cards for it, but you must assume that your opponent is going to Gull you and that can completely kill your gamble for a great wetland engine, in which your food access is crucial. You might not even be able to get the Grebe down if your fish is stolen (there's no fish in the birdfeeder).
I think the titmouse is a good keep (end of round, extend forest, tempo) but without wheat in the feeder the sparrow, which would be decent, seems unplayable. I would draw from the deck using the morning dove hoping for a second cheap forest to combo with titmouse. I would still keep Moltoni's Warbler I think. Interesting and challenging hand for sure
