Yes! I was hoping that somebody would talk about this. I used to work at a building that was in the landing path of BWI airport and when planes would pass over at low altitude, it would get quiet and then this ripping sound would pass overhead. I never knew what it was, but it was really cool to witness.
When landing, you’re saposta wait 2 minutes after the departure of a helicopter before entering the same airspace. Some vortices have some real staying power
