Back in the 1920s, wingwalking claimed lives. Daredevils would move around on the top of a plane's wings, in mid-flight, often without any harness or any safety line. Maybe they'd be able to clip onto something during takeoff and landing, but maybe not. There are still a few of those true daredevil wingwalkers out there in the world, but in the 21st century... it's usually a bit different.

If you're wondering why I say that "standing up in the wind" is one of the most strenuous things I've done: turns out my g-tolerance standing is even lower than when I'm sitting down. Things got a bit... fuzzy for me during one of the 2.5g pulls.

Nonsense: structural integrity has been maintained. Skin.exe operates fine, even outside its specified design parameters... It might've been "(not responding)" for a while, but that was temporary. 🤓

As a non-pilot the only view I get from this plane is from the top wing and I have done so... twice! The second time was with loops and stall turns thrown in as can be seen on my RU-vid channel! There is nothing like the view from that top wing at up to 2,200ft!

I have done this. About 10 years ago I won a competition and was taken on a bi - plane flight strapped to the top just like you.... didn't do loops but remarkably similar to going fast on a motorcycle...... another tick off the bucket list!

I can tell you from experience that there is nothing like the view from that top wing of that Boeing Stearman. Looking down on that propeller is awesome! I've wing walked twice on the very same plane at the same location as Tom. I went one step further than Tom because i've done high level loops and stall turns too. When you go upside-down it is absolutely fantastic! As Katie says in the loop you pull 4g and the acceleration from top (50 mph) to bottom (160 mph) is phenomenal. Both my wing walks can be seen on my RU-vid channel. If you get the opportunity to do it then do it! It's the best thing I've ever done. It even tops skydiving for me!

I've done this on that very plane as can be seen on my RU-vid channel. I've gone one better than Tom as I've done the upside-down loops and stall turns! For me wing walking is the best thing I've ever done and even tops skydiving but it's not the scariest thing I've ever done. Bungee jumping is the scariest thing I've ever done!

If you look closely you can see the one GoPro where Tom is speaking to and there are only 2 Gopros at the plane and one camera on the ground. So nobody has to run an 3 cameras aren't a lot
