Edge of Extinction makes sense in this series because there all winners and they stay on the tv but a regular season I hope they never bring it back again, your out your out.

Excellent analysis! You really should have been on the season...what a miscarriage of justice. And unlike All Stars--which was only, what, three, four years after the first season--the target on your back wouldn't have been so big, and you could have gone deep in the game. I think the other competitors would have underestimated you since you hadn't played in so long, which would have only helped your game. Could Richard Hatch have won again? Judging by his astute commentary, I say yes. But we were robbed of that. Honestly, they should do a second edition of Winners at War, with the remaining twenty winners, with Hatch there, of course. Rich, I was 22 when you won the first time...thank you for the memories 🙏 Admittedly, I hated you in the beginning, but, like Boston Rob afterwards, by the end of the season I was pulling for you like crazy. Take pride in being not only the show's first sole survivor, but one of television's best villains.

I think Rob made a huge mistake voting off Natalie. IMO he should have played the "your a couple, me and my wife are a couple" card with Jeremey and Natalie. Now I see Jeremey joining forces with Ben and the other new player to take out Rob. He could have had a solid alliance going and now all he has is Parv on his side...….though I'm guessing he'll be saved by a idol from his wife if they lose the next challenge...…..this is my thoughts based off the edited show we see

You could record your first(maybe second with some acting on your part) reaction-thoughts while watching it live for the next episodes,it's quite the famous video type in RU-vid if you are not up to date and I think it could be a really good idea for the type of channel you are going for!

Tony & Sandra alliance has always been so powerful when they work together. However they never seem to be trusting each other for some reason and always back stabs each other.

Wow! Your understanding of this game is astounding. Having watched (and rewatched) episodes 2-4, you already foresaw elements of gameplay that weren't made clear to us civilians. Can't wait to watch more recent recaps.

Ethan played a great game in Africa by pairing with a dominant force in Lex but letting Lex take the heat for the moves, a same approach could be made with Rob. out of all the players last night Ethan and Yuls ability to adapt and hit the ground running but not hit the radar really impressed me.

I agree with Rich about Sandra: how some people say "how did she win?" is a testimony to her manuvering and scheming so sly and unobserved, that players are outplayed by her without them even realizing. That is genius

I think the big threats will purposely keep each other around. The people you have to worry about are the quiet people like Yul, Sophie, Adam, Denise etc. Why get rid of Rob, Parvati or Sandra early? They will always be excellent meat shields.

I like Edge of Extinction, particularly for this generation of Survivor players, because a lot of the people I want to watch would otherwise go home early, 'cause "they're too big a threat". Which works for the players because it increases their chance of winning but I've dipped out on a number of seasons as a viewer because I didn't find those remaining that interesting to watch. I love how they've expanded on EoE for this season as there's going to be a lot of great players who otherwise wouldn't even had made it to the jury. It was a total bummer for me when they snuffed Natalie's torch 'cause I think she's fantastic. Really appreciate your commentary too Rich 👍

I thought of you as the episode started. What a great 1.5 hours of entertainment it was, though. I felt bad for the blue team because the ocean seemed to be working against them in that first challenge. I wonder if the players can or do discuss challenge related issues. Natalie is one of my favorite winners. I was so disappointed to see her get voted off first like her sister was in their original season. I wonder if after being voted out first a player could still have a legitimate shot at getting to F3 and securing enough votes for a win. I think I like this iteration of the redemption Island a bit more than the previous one although, that idol did not seem to be in a very difficult place to find. One of the things I didn't like about last season's island was that the winner came from it, but we barely got to see them on the redemption island. I think they should have spent more time there since the eventual winner would come from it. We should have seen Chris making the bonds that would go on to secure him the votes at F3. We should have heard them talking about how anyone from the island should make fire etc. I'm rambling. Good video, Hatch. It'll be great to get your insightful takes after each episode.

Leading up to the tribal councils, there was none of the usual focus on keeping strength for challenges, who’s helping out around camp, all that kind of stuff. It was all about booting people with strong prior connections. Do you think that was just the editing, or do you think that’s really how it played out?

Richard no one can ever doubt your importance to the game Survivor. You were the ultimate winner and also you were season 1. You had no to base your gameplay on or anything. you created how to play the game the best. BTW, the three of us voted for you to win and celebrated when you beat Kelly. Having said that though. As a young 20 year old watching it with my mom and brother. I didn't appreciate you being naked. It was incredibly uncomfortable. Also when you played the game with Sue and she had to cross you on that beam and you're butt naked that was incredibly inappropriate. And that's why they didn't bring you back. Personally, if you're going to bring the winners back, I think you should have been included. Because you're the original and you're the one every subsequent player based their game play on in some way or form.

Yes, this season would have been so much better with Richard Hatch. It's just not the same without him.

I personally think the game is not fast-paced. Its just that the scrambling are more prominent tv-wise. And the newer generation is more agitated to voting people off. Its like having them drink coffee 24/7 to the point wherein they have epilepsy

You should do a podcast on the survivor specialists would love to see it great video.

It is great to hear your thoughts on a number of the players. When watching this premiere, I was thinking back to All-Stars. The big threats finally seem to have learned how to maneuver their way into a position where they can work with each other to eliminate the people going "big game hunting", unlike in All-Stars.

Rich is the only winner not on this season that I really wanted to see.

For me, the idea you are the way you are, is what worked for you. Other winner have watched you and taken parts of your strategy to help them in the game. Of all the people that have ever played, you would have give Boston Rob a run for the money.

I love the edge of extinction twist now that it can help people still in the game. Queen Sandra now is safe for 3 tribals due to it.
