I have been listening to God speaking through Doug Bachelor. God knows what I am struggling with. I need to stop and let God take control. I want walk in the Spirit.
@@PastorBatchelor Unfortunately you cannot help that person walk in the Spirit since Adventist doctrine denies the spirit in man and the Holy Spirit is purely theoretical to you.
@@thenowchurch6419 we do not believe the holy Spirit is theoretical at all. It is very real. There is "Spirit" Holy Spirit and there is "spirit" meaning breath of life (our spirits) the one that is part of our body.
@@mannywiebe All you did was spout a theory. A theory that the Holy Spirit is real and different from the breath of life. Ellen G. White, your Spirit of Prophecy, denied that the Holy Spirit can actually indwell a person. She stressed that Christians must read the Bible and think about it. Those thoughts are the influence of the Holy Spirit, according to her. She says that the Holy Spirit is not really in your body. So for all practical purposes the Holy Spirit is a theory in the life of an Adventist.

Praise God. It seems every time, by God's grace, that i am trying to overcome something, a message here comes that helps. Eg today i had to go up town and get groceries. This is normally a simple task, but for about 10 months now i have been having various treatments for breast cancer. This week i had chemotherapy and it causes extreme fatigue so anything normal is like climbing a very high mountain and running out of breath. However, this whole journey is teaching me many positive things. Today, with a fatigued outlook taking a toll, i was impressed that the feelings about some silly drivers was making me miserable, i asked God for help and started singing hymns. At the end of my 25 minute journey home i felt happy and thankful. Now this message is just reinforcing the blessing for trusting in God. Thankyou.

We cannot break the bondage of sin. All we need to do is want to. Jesus will break the bondage of sin in His own way and in His own time. I'm a witness. Just never stop wanting to and you will have the victory!!

I was baptized when I was 12 and was born and raised in the church . But some years ago I just started drifting away from God , I have been blaming the church for so long but all I wanna do now is to go back to church . Pastor Doug, thank you for this message that I'm watching for the first time. My beloved husband of 32 years passed away this evening at 6:55 pm PST. He had a massive stroke this afternoon and was intiabated and unconscious in the ER from about 1:30 this afternoon. The 2nd CT Scan showed that the brain hemorrhage had spread through his brain with no hope of survival. The ER staff removed the breathing tube and all IV's at between 6:45 and 6:50 and then left me alone in the room with him and a sister from the Bremerton Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bremerton, WA who was sitting with me in Clyde's room. I held his left hand and kept my right hand on the right side of his neck to feel when his heart stopped. He never regained consciousness and was in no pain. I prayed while holding his hand and kissed him goodbye after he passed. Two friends in the building where I live sat with me in the lobby and we talked until after 11 tonight. I started watching this after I got home and it has really helped me, even though I have had to pause it to pray for peace several times. Knowing mu beloved Clyde has "Won the War with the Flesh", I still have to deal with it. It is what Clyde would want. I want to thank you with all my heart for all you do and say to help us to learn to deal with the flesh and the devil and to strive to please our Creator.

Amen, keep in mind when we choose good over sin we must ask God for that in the moment and he will give us that victory over the temptation. We cannot do alone, only with His power.

Thank you, it was always confusing to me what Paul was trying to say here. Sometimes I get the idea that walking in the spirit means you will never commit a sin, which is impossible. The way you explained it about how which side will rein makes sense, in other words gaining some control and trying to make that control gain more and more

Just my opinion, but the original King James Version is closest to the original scriptures. Every "new" version has its own interpretation that is more acceptable with society. After saying that, if a newer version of the Bible draws you closer to God use that. There are many examples of why I prefer the original KJV. I will give you just two examples and there are many more and too numerous to list. The virgin birth of Jesus is one of the most important events of all time. In a few of the more modern versions it says Mary was a young girl. The main point here is that she was a young "virgin". I immediately dismissed that updated Bible. Another version says in Revelation 22:14 "Blessed are they that DO His Commandments, that they may have right to the tree if life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." In the newer versions, one of the NIV, says, "He that washes his robe.....," It leaves out the necessity of keeping the commandments. It clearly states in Revelation 14:12 "Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." Versions of the Bible are like the game of gossip. The farther away you get from the original the intended meaning could be altered. I hope whatever version you decide on will lead you to Jesus and eternal life. Life is hard but God is good!

When it is your time to go and take that nice long sleep until Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ 2nd Coming. Nothing is going to stop it from happening correct ? Hi, Brian. I've never seen notes posted; you would have to write down the texts as you listen, and look them up later. For instance, just jot down "Galatians 5:22" when you see it on the screen, or hear it referenced. If for some reason the text isn't specifically noted, try jotting the most recognizable phrase and run it through a search engine later. Most Scriptures can be found this way.
