My partner and I worked until we could hire. We just posted ads and still post them. @Indeed has been our go to site. We also receive referrals from our current employees.

Greetings! I just found your page and I'm extremely grateful. Which type of transitional housing doesn't require a live in or hourly employee? You also mentioned on a podcast that "age out youth" wasn't your forte. Can you share why?

Welcome! thank you for stopping by. Make sure you click the subscribe button to stay connected. When it comes to transitional housing you would have to check the regulations in the state and city that you are in to find out what is required. When it comes to aged out foster care, I meant I didn't have enough info to go off yet. It is a great model the more I find out about it, but at the time I didn't know enough about it to comment. As you probably know things vary by state so, in any case, you would have to know the regulations for wherever you are located.

@antwanabanks3500 from what I have heard you do not want a code that includes assisted elderly care or hospice. They can be denied funding. I am trying to find the proper code as well. I have seen that you may be able to use home health 621610 but I am also trying to confirm. @myrrie do you use the one for mental health? Or perhaps 623990 other residential care facilities?

I’m in California, here an “Owner” needs to be an administrator and have 1 year of experience in order to attend orientation and to open a group home for adults with developmental disabilities. I’m waiting for my administrator’s certificate to arrive ☺️ and started to gain experience by working in a group home. I’m doing my part, but it is a process and I cannot seem to find any information on the state website to open an SMI group home in California or if it’s possible to open a group home in another state without living in that state.
