In the WSOP Main Event 2022, Adrian Attenborough and Matija Dobric went after each other in multiple hands. Deep into the tournament, they tried bluffing each other, got hero called and even thought about potentially making a huge hero fold.

It is tough to find a lot of calls. 3bet pre with icm eliminates a lot of smaller flushes. JTdd of course makes sense, but there’s no J7/T7/67/75 etc. When we have A7dd, the only other flushes are QJs/QTs/JTs maybe 65s. Which means we have to be going for value from trips. But there really aren’t many trips for Adrian. maybe exactly KxJd/KxTd. And he may not even be calling them. But more importantly, river boats Adrian up a lot. He has KQ, K9s, 88, 99. There are just a lot of hands that get to the river and are now ahead, versus a small amount of hands left that can call that you beat. That being said, I’m not advocating for a check back. Personally, I think it’s a good jam spot (but I’m also not a believer that people are bluffcatching 77 with the diamond there like the solver is). There are still hands to get value from, and especially we can play to our image a bit knowing Adrian has called us light. But I do think it’s completely understandable why he would check back in that spot, given how good the river is for Adrian’s range.

Awesome video. Great to see this type of breakdown from Adrian. The tell he had on Dobric is nearly exactly the same one I realized & told Espen about. There is so much specific informatiom you can get from those livestreams sometimes.

Every solves you did do not count ICM implications. Those outputs are far distant from strat with ICM. MTT world will change once a commercial solver covers ICM though all phases.
