Mechwarrior 3, playing as an ELH commando unit cut off behind enemy lines like Battletech Band of Brothers, is such an excellent story. My personal favorite BT game.
Hells yes! MW3 was my first adventure in the Battletech universe, I didn't realise until recently that you play as the ELH in it. I really should replay it
@@JasonSkyehey hey, that was my first intro to Battletech as well! Still got some of the original manual too-lost a few pages because I was barely a teen then, but still. You can most likely find a CD-ROM disk image on the Internet Archive; getting it to run can be a bit of trouble though, or at least it was for me lol
Thank you! The lore of the ELH is absolutely fantastic, there is a compilation by the name of No Greater Honour that collects a series of short stories from across their history - it's very good!
@@lucasZr113 one of only 2 merc companies that could go toe-to-toe with Wolf's Dragoons in their prime, and direct descendants from a Star League unit, loyal solely to the Federated Suns. I believe Jaime Wolf considered them a peer match.
I had a kickstarter character who was born into the Northwind Highlanders before joining the ELH. He had a modified Star League era Warhammer with his clan tartan down the shoulder, and he generally quoted Scottish clan motto's when delivering the death blow, kinda like a eulogy. Had to de-brony one of the most formidable merc companies in lore, they deserve to be more than a meme, especially that has literally nothing to do with their history or their essence. We're talking about one of only 2 merc companies that could go toe-to-toe with Wolf's Dragoons in their prime.
@@JasonSkye To my knowledge, the vast majority of KS character production were discontinued from the Clan Invasion KS b/c "we discovered after you paid for the perk that it was way too much work." Paraphrase.
And what will be the next one? The Royal Black Watch (the absolute gigachads who never stopped fighting even when Amaris dropped nukes on them) please?
@@JasonSkye There were few good ones in there, but honestly felt it be very hit or miss. Find myself most of the time go back for 'TUKAYYID', but yearning for something bit more... aggressive?
In Mechwarrior Online, I was a member of the Eridani Light Pony (a sort of parody group) or 'ELP' while it existed. Since we were coordinated, people often dreaded seeing us on the opposing side of a drop.
