This is Winston who we adopted 10 days ago from the Dogs Trust Roden near Shrewsbury, he had been with them for four years. He has settled in so well and has made himself really at home.
Thanks for commenting. Winston has had two previous homes before landing up at the Roden Dogs Trust Shrewsbury and spending the last four years there where he was a favorite with all of the staff, but it is not quite the same as having a home of your own. As you say he has now found his furever home!
A very kind thing you've done, Maurice. Hope he likes birds! He certainly seems to have a steady demeanor. What a change if must be for him -- from shelter to that back garden.
Many thanks for your comments. He's settled in so well and already made an arrangement with the birds, they don't bother him & he doesn't bother them, but the same doesn't go for the squirrels though.

Thanks Annemieke, dogs have always been part of my life. For the 4 weeks we were without one prior to adopting Winston there was gaping hole in our home and lives.
Thank you Annie, yes he is a lovely dog, I took him back yesterday to see the girls at the kennels where he had been for 4 years and almost all of them came out to greet him, he is a real star with then all.
Thanks Jeremy, he's already made himself at home and spends quite a lot of time in the garden seeing off the cats and sitting at the gate letting passers-by know that this is his home now.
Great Maurice and a wonderful dog. I have a new rescue dog too, he come from Greece and is now 6 months old...or young. Sep is his name and very lovely. Greetings, Sarah

Thanks Norman, for a dog that has been in kennels for 4 years he has settled into home life so quickly. It's surprising how many dogs seem to come in from overseas for re homing, our local Dogs Trust has a lot of dogs coming in from Ireland.
Thanks Maurice, my wife tried all over our area (South Yorkshire) but couldn't get any joy from any of the rescue centres. That is the only reason she ventured further afield. Good Luck. Neil
