This is pretty much where i'm at. National were so gutless last election they lost my vote. No backbone at all. I moved towards ACT - freedom of speech is primary on the their agenda - but David was still too scared to meet protesters. Have some balls man. Can Winston be trusted this time? Who knows. But he has more experience than anyone else, and understands the current political climate more than anyone. Not necessarily a bad bet.

Be good to see a full-scale enquiry into mental health services here in NZ as well too. I'm certain that they'll find a whole lot of evidence of blatant abuses from health staff who were employed to provide care. But i have doubt it would be allowed to happen?. As the government would feel far too afraid of themselves being partly held to account for their own part in the role of widespread neglect.

If i could place a bet on our future here in NZ, i would place money on a bet that we are set to see crime explode at an even faster rate than what has already been seen to happen so far. Because there is still no party what's interested in addressing the issue of intergeneration trauma. And our mental health system still doesn't even have many health professionals (if any?) who've been specifically trained in this field of psychology here in NZ either. The labor party has done themselves a great disservice as well, by the way they've refused to address this problem which will only be set to grow further into epidemic proportion until some government party decides it's time to fix it. Half of the violent crimes happening in NZ are bound to be occurring with criminal whose violent actions are springing from limbic response. Jailing them, without addressing the underlaying problem, only serves to further embed the problem into society. As for one thing they'll be likely to have their own offspring who'll grow with a grudge against society, and the same problem with intergenerational trauma will continue on into the future, while also gathering speed
Well, perhaps it’s time to put the bad ones in the ground, and hard labour for the rest. Why should the decent people of this country wrap these shit bags in cotton wool.
Those with intergenerational trauma (most of us) can be help themselves by applying and then maintaining serious personal responsibility first and foremost, while making a conscious effort to forgive their forefathers. There is no amount of psychotherapy that will help them if they are not prepared to do these things. Crims are broken people, but they have to want to change and put in the hard yards. It takes more effort to do this than to stop living a degenerate life.

Mr Peters with all due respect - your party caused that an unknown person, not elected by our people, become PM of our Country and together with her Labour Party passing laws allocating rights to different groups of our people resulting in division which we never had before. You are now sweet talking your way back after being kicked out by labour and causing more division by promising to undo what has been done and hope to be the hero who fixed it all. My wish is that we have a new government (National) without your party, and bring back trust and confidence to every one in our Country that we are one nation and respect each others culture.
How do you really believe that winston is responsible for what you claim? Not many saw through the deceit of the labor government.. it wasn't till they took over alone that their true colors showed.. clearly winston was what stopped it happening earlier..
