What a utter lot of CRAP I am 84yrs and Peters is only there for his own show platform Ha Ha Haa sued many of other politicians etc. A what about the millions he has cost the country Thus The Wine box saga. God bless your hype.
Don't go raising the retirement age.....not everyone sits on their arse in an office all day.....many of us have a lifetime of hard physical work behind us ..... and because of that many of us are worn out because of it.....
The waste I see by Waka Kotahi is ridiculous. They came along and spent days filling in a couple of roadside gardens with concrete and THEN painted Maori designs on them They lasted less than a month when they simply washed 'off. The next week I see two trucks with blokes diddling with their phones whilst one girl was picking up rubbish in a roadside ditch......how much per hour did that cost......
yes , we have the same in Tauranga , where do you live ? We seem to have had a constant stream of jobs around the city and it generally works like this , there is a group of workers made up of a female , who does nothing and then the main group who do very little but have been seen to stand around talking and then the workers but they are few and seem to get the bulk of the days task's done . How do these contracts get let , there is no apparent competition . Fulton Hogan is the only one seen .
@@rod-contracts1616 yes , similar but this is much more obvious and no attempt to get out of view , I remember the NZR was similar but those guys weren't in the public view and these aren't govt . workers .
@@eyesup1433what does being female have to do with it. the majority of road workers are lazy males .like the 5 I saw in lower Hutt today 2 were working the other 3 standing around talking 😡
Grow GDP - yes. There are many things you can do in NZ and I just wonder why everyone is asleep. Another route is to also massively decrease govt. spending.
A lot of our farmers already work beyond 65 so essentially they are paying for their own pension thru tax. Capital gains tax will see more of our richer people leaving for greener pastures. You cannot tax a country out of poverty. Roads are ridiculously expensive and slow to be built. Our roadworkers have been on a money haul for years, they could learn alot from overseas. Same with building rail.....to sloooow.! And stop the treaty, 10,000 claims in the que...this country will never be rich and prosperous especially if the greens and labour stop all progress Shane Jones is trying to make, which incidentally will benefit all kiwis.
Stupid labour ignored roads wasted tax payer money on stupid bicycle footpaths lanes kowtowed to nutty greens .cyclists are arrogant idiots think there above the law & Road rules don't apply to them
Hang on a minute mate, the superannuation scheme in NZ is designed to ensure a small payout to those who paid in over their working life. Let's not forget that many new immigrants who get the same privilage have completed far less time paying in, and if we are splitting hairs some have paid much more than others. If there is a problem with affordability for all then that comes back to those who administer to this scheme and take accountability for any poor performance and lack of funds. This country is now a joke, it wasn't until it signed up to the offshore masters (IMF UN WHO etc) and we got woke wankers running the place and spending our money of vanity projects and virtue signalling. Winston as always makes sense, shame he stuffed up his opportunity to take charge some years ago
Actually, f**k this. I just read a few more of your comments. Why are you here plugging away on this comment section? Why aren't you in Government? I am gutted you are here, you need to be there. I will vote for you.
As a female labourer, I am now paying hard for working hard labour work. I have chronic arthritis and fibromyalgia in my hands and body. Keep the Retirement age at 65 years old.
NO. You need to improve productivity. We have crammed tons of people into NZ over the last few decades and that grows GDP while making everything worse. Do not pull some stunt that looks good on paper while reducing the quality of life for Kiwis.
So what if we have a lot of areas with low population. We have limited resources, limited housing, limited infrastructure, and an excess of low or no-skill immigrants isn't going to fix the 'not enough engineers or neurosurgeons' problem. It only makes it worse. There are a lot of sh!t places in the world, and NZ can get a lot worse and still be attractive to a lot of people. I don't want it to get worse any more than it already has.
I havnt heard Mr Peters speak for a while. Damn i have missed this man! Mr Peters, THANK YOU for bringing peoples minds to fixing the root cause of the problems we face. For too many years of my lifetime Governments have been 'fixing' problems by creating taxes for BS and bandaide solutions. Working NZers income is constantly whittled away and sucked up by authorities with clip boards any time we want to make a move to improve OUR LIVES or living conditions. My parents have slogged their guts out over their life time. Now in retirement their bodies are crashing. Alziemers, arthritis, knee replacements, heart conditions. It breaks my heart to see them in this state when they should be bouncing off the walls, exploring the world and relishing this stage of their lives. It is cruel to make our elders work longer for their retirement.
I agree with Winston, that there should be a separation between politics and the judiciary.... the problem is that hasn't been the case for multiple decades at least. I for one strongly suggest an audit of the police/courts typical politically motivated unlawful conduct. And whilst I heartily agree with the infrastructure first approach, as this has been seriously lacking for multiple decades as well, I can't say that I'd prioritize globalism as much as Winston.... or much at all to be honest. We could be world leaders in a number of ways, but as a country we seem to be looking through a very narcissistically narrow lens, deferring to "authorities" and "experts" that are clearly either totally clueless or as corrupt as you can get.... or both. These "authorities" and "experts" are apparently consequently unable to see the reality of what's right in front of them. Especially those that inhabit "upside-down world" where carbon dioxide and methane "global warming". I'll let you in on a secret; that's the exact opposite of reality. What is being hidden from you, and why? Can you figure that out? Because I know the answers they don't want you to know and it proves that those claiming methane and carbon dioxide are "greenhouse gasses' that cause "global warming", and championing wind, solar, and electric vehicles, are some of the worst criminals and/or most delusional people this world has ever seen.... and that's a pretty low stick to limbo under. It's curious that people like myself have been correctly predicting where the patterns of behaviour of our leaders (or striking lack thereof) would inevitably take us for a quite some time. And instead of taking good advice, those that would do well to listen to advice for a change, double down on criminally insane, and instead often send some of the most politically corrupt, thuggish, police in the english speaking world to "check people's thinking", like we've been in a socialist dystopian open air prison for a century.... I'm looking at you Labour/Greens and the rest of the politically far/radical left.... and especially the leaders of the politically corrupt and largely lawless NZ police that have, seemingly actively and wilfully, caused the vast majority of gang/syndicate crimes, domestic violence, and "white collar" type crime problems in NZ. Or it could just be the stupidity of stacking the force with officers that obviously have serious clinical level personality dysfunctions.... Yeah, I see how you operate, I'm far from the only one, and it's disgusting to anyone with morals. You might think that some of those assigned leaders would start listening to those that are much better at predicting the outcome of certain actions and decisions than they are. But perhaps it's actually features of the way their organisation functions, rather than flaws in them. But hey, give it another ten to fifteen years and all of my predictions to date would have played out fully, and this will be a much different country with a completely different working dynamic, by necessity. Educate, don't indoctrinate.
Don't act your age 👍👍💯🧠🤚playing a game with words one size never works National & Labor keeps taking the No 8 wire home grown Kiwi Ppl down those same rabbit holes Where's the common sense to putting up age retirement
The roads are terrible, Im paying for new shocks every year, yet were are expected to pay a registration fee to drive on the road a w.o.f. to ensure our vehicle is safe, yet those whom are caretakers civil engineering have no accountability for unsafe roads...
So, why would we charge tax on UNREALISED gains or REALISED gains - but not on UNREALISED or REALISED LOSSES? We need to increase GDP - which is woefully stagnant AND we need to curtail - GDW - which is :Gross Domestic Waste... which has only been growing! Note: If you are a bricklayer or similar you simply cannot work past 65 bc the body won't take it!
How many taxs do we need. There should only be one tax and that's income tax. Even that is far to high. Far to many politicians and far to much money wasted.
If it was such a wonderful idea to raise the age of super, why didn’t Ardern, who many thought walked on water do it? The same reason nobody else will do it - it’s a vote loser. Go and ask Hipkins the same questions.
......I do need to point out that not all countries have our engineering challenges with regard to road building and the ground they sit on. Access to tar is all imported product as well.
Mr Peters is more handsome as he grows older..❤.. and yes, we need common sense. Pot holes and motorcycles and vehicles of sorts can be quite dangerous.
Some people are physicslly stuffed at 60, others not so much.. Taxation looks after a lot of the discrepancy.. Try living on the pension. Not so easy..
The quality of tar is in questions here . Roading is vital,a small hole develop into big very easily . Need ppl with a ute type vehicle to be there, before the problem escalate.
And u don't let land lords that have millions in dept and multiple homes get off not paying tax on their interest, that should be past on to first home NZ buyers ,up to 300 ,000 limits .Ur The NZ 1st party ,lets look after our own first .
I wonder if doing away with tax breaks completely would be better than a CGT or raising the retirement age due to the fact tax breaks are funded by those that don't qualify for them. I read on a FB page someone said the govt could have bought new Cook Straight ferries with the tax breaks they have returned to landlords. I wonder how many people get rich due to qualifying for tax breaks? They should be the ones means tested in retirement maybe?
Peters says a lot and does nothing. The problem is NZF can't see beyond parliament so when they get in, they go into coalition and achieve very little. If NZF was a serious movement and not a silly party they would be working hard on theory and policy and broadening the movement.
When a commercial property say worth one million and attracting a rental in excess of one million is sold ten years later,( rough rule of thumb for pricing commercial properties for sale is ten times annual rental) for ten million having experienced lord knows what tax write offs on the interim and attracts no tax, although t I have a great deal of time for Winston I am unable to agree on this issue. The scenario given above is actual not imaginary.
Your imagination is running wild. Your data is askew. As for tax write offs I'd love to know how for our commercial rental. Many held in a Trust so tax 39%, and regardless zero depreciation deductions.
And if the seller wanted to go out and buy another property on todays market. Guess what? It would cost them $10million. Capital gain is more a reflection of inflation than anything else. Your post drips envy.
We need fewer bureaucrats, all paid very much less. We need more people, proportionately, producing goods and services. We do not need an increase in population generally.
What aloud of crap, cause we need this tax ,bright line policy excellent, should be 5years on all properties, no exceptions, still no interest deductible , all on level playing ground, developers should not advantage over first home buyer.
Uninformed interviewer here made me laugh out loud ✨✨✨✨✨✨ Learn about WHY you pay taxes please and STOP picking on Pensioners. More knowledge will tell you what you obviously dont know. Crikey!
