I'm real Brooklyn new york head. That grew up in west Indians family household. Alright I chill around west Indians from🇬🇩🇬🇾🇻🇨 on Nostrand ave. Everytime I come through jamming my Marshall Kilburn speakers blasting 9ld school Caribbean music. I always keep nostrand&Atlantic Avenue real live their love me.
Wow, this song makes me lol. I recall being young and green. A young lady would visit me at my workplace and she would sing that part of the song, I don't mind, I don't mind if you want to give me I won't refuse it. She always had this big grin on her face. When I look back, now I know what she was saying to me. Lol. Wonder if she ever think back to those memories. Songs are time machines. There are so many songs in our heads. Some of these songs bring back memories of particular people. Lovers, friends, families, even strangers that probably crossed path with you in the moment that particular song was playing.
I will always remember song, I was ten years old, it was carnival in Trinidad and I was on top a building on nelson street. the sweetness of this song had me wining all day
I don't mind, honey I don't mind if you want to give me ah won't refuse it 🎵🎶 wooooooooiiiiiiieeeeeeeee classics... any Caribbean folks still listening to this timepiece on 13 April 2020?
Definitely a classic, This Vincy man got the blend of Lyrics on an awesome pounding pouncing pulsating groove. His voice is so musical. Midnight in Lagos, Nigeria, and dancing to Vincy Soca. Love all the comments below
Pastor Sean. What you’re saying is so true, I’ll give you an example. I know of a real ‘ godly’ woman who said God said a certain pastor would be her husband. She got confirmations from other women of power. Turns out that was not true. The man of God had a fiancé but she did not know. I think when people say they hear from ‘ God’ it’s probably their feelings. I mean what you’re describing.
I'm Jamaican didn't know anything about soca music until I met my kids father who is a Vincy he use to take me to soca party in Brooklyn back in the 90"s love listening to soca especially these classics
Back in the day I listened to this song about 500 times with my walkman headphones- bass pumping, hearing every note and inflection in the singing... This is an absolutely well composed song, voice and music perfect! HIT DE HORN!! I know every word inflection to this day! I doh mind, I doh mind!
Mannnnn listennnn!!! Grew up on songs like this, and others from Byron Lee and the Dragonaires, Arrow and Sparrow etc....great times!!! Great memories!!
First heard this at a Jump up in porta spain 33yrs ago. Was part of the British army that "invaded" T&T in 1990. I fell in love with the country, people & soca..........oh & Cain rum. I brought back quite a few hooky tapes & soca has been the music of the sumner time ever since. Soca changes you............& once you hear it you'll never be the say again.
This is the Jam. As a youngster, I would see my west African family dance to this at all the parties. I need this song in my playlist bad. So many memories.
Growing up all of my Liberian friends and family would play this song at every event. I thought it was a Liberian 🇱🇷 song/artist. Only after researching the song that I discovered that’s it’s a soca song by a Caribbean Artist. Classic and love it to so much. Brings back many happy memories. R.I.P. to Legend Winston Soso and my late father Saku M.Berete SILLAH who introduced this song to me as a child.
