The Survival Russia Channel is about "The Reality Of Survival". I live on a Homestead in far away Russian wild nature. Here is no room for "TV" Survival.
Only Reality counts here. Survival Russia promotes the philosophy of always carrying equipment and never to be parted from equipment which will affect chances of Survival.
So did the old timers and pioneers of both the East and the West.

One thing i have learned from my grandfather: If the sky is clear, the night will be very cold. So, no wonder, why its 30 centigrade below zero. And finally, the big logfire is burining! :D

We where out hiking all the time, but our skills where not as awesome as yours. Your videos make me wanna go back to the wilderness. Thanks for reminding me.

I've watched a couple of your show, like them a lot. I took winter survival training in the US Army in Alaska in 1970, they showed us all the things we could do and then told us, we can't do that, the post commander doesn't want us going into the forest so it's just what you have right here and there was nothing right here. Had all been used by previous training companies. All I remember of it is that I spent a week in a sleeping bag. Something else may have happened, I don't know.

That's how you do it! I completely agree about just using a ground pad if possible instead of stripping trees for fun. A few years back I bought my wife a really nice and thick Thermarest for camping......and I might just borrow it sometimes when I go out-of-vehicle camping ;) I'm really liking my Canadian bag system, but it's certainly something that you wouldn't want to carry on your back!

Back when I was in the Canadian army we also had this gold ticket you could call it Bivvy bag, the original Green one, That thing you could lay in the middle of a swamp and stay dry, Combined with the winter sleeping bags it was comfortable to -40 or a bit more, just the morning piss sucked climbing out of the bag :)
