Winter camping in my 4x4 Van. First measurable snow of the year couldn't help but get out for some snow camping in my 4x4 Van. Cleared a road of some deadfall, had a nice campfire, and cooked some delicious van camping meals. Don't miss out on this Winter Van Life video.

To quote one of the seamen on the crewmembers of the ill-fated HMS Endurance when they realized they had to kill off the sled dogs to conserve food, one of the crewmembers is quoted as saying.......' there were many members of the crew I would have readily dispatched than even one of the lowliest of the dogs'.

3:30 AM...can't sleep...watching Jason live the good life. It's supposed to be in the mid-30's all week, with lows in the low teens. Reasonably clear and cold. You've made up my mind. I have several days of camp firewood stacked up, so why not use it? I'll be off to the Owyhees for a day or three this week. Thanks for the push Jason!

Use Sno-seal around all the stitching and where the leather overlaps. Apply heavily, let warm and soak into the leather. My Smokejumpers are waterproofed like this. Have had a leak for over 12 years.

Nice to have a 9K pound rig, 4x4 etc... I got back to the coast today ... the high alt east Oregon whewwww can get cold ... I wonder if there is any neat places by Klamath and Chiloquin areas? Your camp by the lake looks like a nice place to spend the Sabbath and have beef sausage, eggs and pancakes with great maple syrup. ... and a tuned guitar.

Sometimes I watch these types of videos and get jealous of whoever is out camping in their rig and I'm just sitting at home, but Jason's videos are so down to earth and authentic I can't help but feel happy for him and totally forget about myself.

great video but you are more than welcome to play in the snow, i spend my time avoiding snow. Its 52 in Tombstone at 817pm and the central heat is on in the camper...lol. I did get a couple new batteries in the van. I'm a flooded cell guy so I'm trying out the US Battery company 232 amp hour batteries. that gives me 1,352 ah in the van not including the start battery. I can go van alone or power my camper off the van for longer stays when the wife goes. I also use the van for off grid film and video companies or remote construction companies to rent.

Actually deflating tires in snow is not good. You want your tires to cut through snow not ride on top. It’s different when off reading in sand mud or rock. An example what has better traction in snow? A a model A with narrow tires or a 4x4 with 33s? The model A hands better traction. That’s why they didn’t get stuck as easy out in the snow in the country. The Model A tires cut through the snow to the pavement or dirt and got better traction.😅

Couple of things: if you don't have a fire poker and want one I would forge one for you for free....also where did you get that large tomahawk?...it is very nice looking...since i am local to you I could get it to you when you are in the area
