With a lot of effort, help and luck we made it to the off grid cabin in the woods. Quite the journey to get there, but thats what I'll remember looking back on this trip.

Save yourself a pile of trouble, get a winch, either on the machine, or portable. Especially when by yourself. But, nothing is nicer than getting there and getting to look at the view.

Cool little cabin…looks to have an amazing view. As you now know a winch is a must. Also I think you need to “send” it a little harder and swap out those tires for something more aggressive. Great video…glad you took your pup along for the adventure.

Ohhh the fun of ATV ing in the snow and mud. A winch is a must as you know now lol. I've had to pull myself out hooked to a tree many a time lol. Great Video , hope Joelle isn't down with your flu , wishing you both and Chester a merry Christmas and happy new year. Chester is so much like my dog Tucker it's unreal not only looks but loves to eat, but running and sniffing in the woods and the water can't get too cold if he can break the ice he'll swim. Tucker likes mud as much as water lol.

Years ago I was out in a crickbed in a swamp in northern Minnesota in December. I was using a D15 allis Chalmers tractor and the same thing happened to me, not enough frost. I waited a couple weeks until the ground froze and drove it right out of there😊.

you can get a cheap harbor freight winch, if you don't already have one. winch will get you out every time.

Never use your emergency brake or parking brake in winter. Just park it in gear or park.

Standard equipment s/b 100 feet of 1/2 inch yacht braid, a 12 volt portable winch. a comealong, and or a chain fall. Each can do wonders

Actually, when it got stuck, I would have probably taken a couple of pieces of that wood out of the back of the Kubota and put it in certain positions under the tires to get moving.

Technically, if it's in a cabin or a house, it's not camping. Stationary structures don't count. I'm from Montana and I camp in the cold

All dog's like their blankey's. Including mine. Mine also requests a sweater!! LOL I mean he is a Cocker Spaniel but a very spoiled Cocker Spaniel. My boy is a baby for sure!!!

If you’re genuinely looking into getting a machine I would recommend the can-am defender. Stay away from Kubota as they are designed to drive around on packed trails and gravel roads. The defenders are literally designed to drive through swamps and mud is you get the xmr package.

Yes Adam, that's a snow camping trip. I know you were in a cabin but so what, caravan tent or a cabin it's all camping to me. Chester was having a ball. Glad you are feeling better being ill is so annoying. How's the house? 👍👍👍👍👍

I think "send it" is better advise in a situation like that. Momentum is your friend. Approach the trouble spot with the maximum speed you can manage and especially with mud, tires rotating at high RPM will fling the mud off the tire for maximum traction. No guarantee but those are your best odds of making it through. :)
