The arrival of snow and ice transforms the mountains into a magical winter playground. It's a time of year that I look forward to and enjoy every minute of, I split my time in winter between home in Wales and travelling to Scotland, Norway and the Alps and hence offer a wide variety of courses and trips for all ability levels and aspirations.

I run all of the winter courses myself, together with fellow instructor Huw. We are both holders of the highest instructional qualification in the UK (WMCI) and each have a lifetime of experiences around the world.
We run the courses in small friendly groups with the emphasis on empowering you with the skills that you need to be self sufficient in the mountains under your own steam.
Winter Skills:
Our winter skills courses are designed for people who want to enjoy the winter mountains as walkers, learning how to use ice axes, crampons, navigate in winter, avoid being avalanched and tick some great summits off in the process with like minded people. They are also great preparation for expeditions to the Greater Ranges.
Winter Mountaineering & Climbing
Our winter mountaineering courses progress people onto grade 1 to 3 mountaineering routes at a ratio of 1:2 with routes including the Aonach Eagach, Curved Ridge, Ledge Route and many more. For people that want to progress further we also run winter climbing courses in Scotland, Wales and Norway.
