I forgot to mention my father, was David Blair, CBE, also a great choreographer, ballet master, (like my mother became), and film maker. They both devoted their lives to helping and passing on all their amazing, beautiful ballet feats, to everyone. Tragically, my father died at 43 years, very suddenly, my mother re married, and died in 2008, aged 77 years. They are so much missed, by me and my other sister, Diana Blair.
No, this's my mother, Maryon Lane, principal dancer of the Royal Ballet from the 1940's, 50's and retired in 1968. She was also married to my father, also the principal ballet dancer of the Royal Ballet, what a superb ballet couple. Thank you to Kenneth for creating this role for her, the 1st of three ballets. x
No, dmfc, with those superb feet, and body it's my mother, Macmillan's muse for a long time, Maryon Lane. But I knew Lynn well, (also along with Margot, Nadia Nerina, whom Ashton created the great ballet La Fille Mal Gardee, for them both, with the superb Stanley Holden (as widow Simone), and Alexander Grant. John Cranko also created Prince of the Pagoda's for him and the gorgeous Sveltana Beriosova, etc too. Thank you for the compliment though, with my best wishes.
