I cut a 12" hole in those tiles where I want to drill my holes. If you cover up as much ice as possible it's easier to heat the tent. I also used 3/4" tiles.

Increase your hook ratio bro by bending the hooks out just a bit. The goal is to get the hook to penetrate. Bending the hooks out just slightly helps improve hook penetration
