Took me a minute to realize you were parked ON the lake lol. I'm not a cold loving person but the fishing did look like a lot of fun! Especially with a friend! Ellie running to you on the ice was too precious! She loves you so much!

Setting up camp on a frozen lake? WOW! 'Tiny Cabin Life' is never boring! 👏👏👏👏 And boy, are you fearless Jack - I wouldn't sleep a wink, listening out for the ice to slowly crack, groan, and finally shatter beneath me, lol! 😱😱😱 (But I was also a nervous wreck thinking sweet Ellie might fall down a fishing hole, during her early morning ablutions). That golden girl bounding across the frozen landscape to reach you, her heart bursting with love, was a magical sight. Man and dog reunited. As a 67 year old woman who has lived in Florida my whole life I too have been fishing a lot. I have caught many of the aquarium size fish like y’all did in this video. What I haven’t done is ice fish and I have to say I would be so scared to walk out on a lake like that. I know your experience tells you when it’s safe but I would be a basket case lol😂. Your videos are so calming and soothing.From your blessings of the food to your treks with beautiful Ellie they give a wonderful message of love and wholesomeness. First I have to say my husband would be jealous that your ice fishing 🎣 Lakes here are not great yet and it's getting late in the season. Great to have a long time friend with you. Thank you all for the video! This adventure was super awesome! I loved that you and Ellie-girl were so brave to spend the time fishing and camping on a frozen lake. I kept looking and listening to make sure you two were not going fall through. I'm being silly, I know. BUT, then again, I guess I'm a big chicken like that. The best kind of hug is when your dog almost sits on you so she can be next to you. Talk about unconditional love. That pup loves her Jack so much. I really like the new camper wheels too. Ellie reminds me of Cindy my beautiful Corgi. She was always delighted to see me and would run to me when I came home from work. She came on all our camping and fishing trips a repaid our care with love and complete devotion. She passed away in her sleep at 14 and, although 24 years later I still miss her. I love the way you cherish Ellie.

Being on the ice is both cool and nerve-racking for me. I know you are educated and know what to look for being on ice. It had to feel surreal for you to do that. Pushing a boundary that I know I can't do anymore due to my fall risks. Looks like a much smoother drive with the bike cabin. Your day looked like so much fun. Glad you enjoyed it. Panning out over the ice almost gave the illusion you were fishing on top of moving water. Thanks for responding to my last post. You got your little cabin out on the lake and ice fishing. Great! But if you're going to get any amount of wind, you will probably need to stake it down. If it also gets really cold, you might need to pack snow around the base (if available). I once made an open-end fish shack from discarded highway sheet aluminum, but it would become stationary with all the snow we would get in northern Maine. Come spring, before ice out, I would drag it to shore for the next year. Crappie are better than no fish. But definitely not my fav in the taste department. Perch are better tasting. Walleye is great tasting. That was a huge walleye. I definitely would have eaten it that evening. Personally, I love catching and eating trout and salmon. Things also go better for me when I pray. Even ice-fishing. BTW, what state/province are you in? May God grow you channel immensely!

I appreciate it!! Strong winds definitely could probably push it around for sure. It was cool bringing it out there for the first time though! I’m really hoping to do more ice fishing 👍🏽

Nice video Jack. We've had such mild temps here in Michigan it's dangerous to be venturing out on the ice. A lot of people who are normally ice fishing this time of year are using their boats. The walleye your friend caught was a monster, and a great way to finish after catching all those tiny crappies. Ellie looked like she was so happy to join up with you. 😍 In summer, when I sleep with windows open, the screech owls will sometimes serenade me to sleep along with the crickets. 🦉🦗
