Make sure to explain a 1 foot snow fall is like. Shoveling the snow out of your drivway for hours with cold hands and as soon as your done the city plow comes by and backfills your driveway with hard icey snow.
In those situations while shoveling the snow we just have to look up and see all our neighbours suffering through it the same! The mix of comaraderie and endorphins while trudging through the snow can be quite exhilarating!! Knowing that even if your car doesn't start or if your stuck in ice that someone is always nearby (granted you don't live off the grid) and willing to help is one of many reasons why I adore my country :)
@@DailyDoseofSpace. Your funny. One CM of snow you could use a broom to brush off the driveway. I bet after shovelling 2 feet of snow out of a driveway you would not be saying I could shovel all day. By the way, after you shovel the driveway the municipal road snowplough truck come by and you now have a 3-foot high drift of snow that will take you an hour of shovelling. Next day it happens again. If you live in Canada you have a gas snow blower, you put snow tires on your vehicle in November.
Sometimes I get bored of Florida weather but after watching this I’ve come to the conclusion that places where it’s very cold and it snows are better to visit... not to live in. Too much work but I respect it.
@@Roddy556 I like when it’s not really cold still cold enough to not melt the snow but not really cold where you can’t enjoy it -10 is perfect with the right winter gear on.
You just need to learn how to dress for it. And stay moving. It's not as bad as you might think - especially when you have a warm fire/house and a hot drink to look forward to after being out in it
I hate having an outside job in winter. Outside jobs in summer make you love being a human being. In winter, my feet always got cold. No matter how expensive the boots. Edit: heartwarming video. You guys are really likeable.
My Wife Stays in Winnipeg and she had been telling me its bone breaking Cold, as we are from India its a tropical climate Country. I hope i will get to see the Snow Soon. thanks for the Video Cheers Mate.
I live in Winnipeg. Some people say it's the coldest city in the world, but really it isn't even the coldest city in Manitoba. I've heard all the jokes about Winterpeg Manitscolda, but despite the temperature we know how to stay comfortable. Enjoy some Winterpeg humour! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s_I1v9P3kZY.html
I'm from Scotland and I wanna move here to test my strength on the cold, in the winter here it can get up to -15 degrees C. But I go outside in shorts and a hoodie and I don't really feel the cold, so I wanna feel the difference here.
This is the big reason why I can’t move to Canada. in the winter it’s really bad but it’s so beautiful I know Canada can’t control their weather any Canadians that are offended please don’t I love your Country!! ❤️
I agree with you on the weather. I can't take that kind of cold and it's also painful for me. I prefer warmer weather. The only place that I would move to in Canada is British Columbia which has a much more milder climate than the rest of Canada.
@@gabriellanoelle1606 For raising a family and a long term living plan, I don't think we'd consider somewhere else. But we'd love to live temporarily in other countries at some point.

I lovee your videoss ♥!!! You both are really handsome/beautiful and look really good together ♥!! Karlaa I love the way you dress for winter like the combinations of colors I am taking those tips for my fashion winter clothes!! haha
I always say I wasn't a real Canadian until I moved from Vancouver to Edmonton. I love BC and the rainy warm weather, but it's nothing like the rest of the country in winter!
oh wow, we're in Calgary now which does not get that cold. We might get one week of -30 but it's more likely to be around -20. It's actually 0 right now. But I lived in Fort.McMurray for 20 years. Where r u?
Must Do Canada I’m from Philippines and 6 years living in Yorkton Saskatchewan. Tonight the temp is -7 and feels like -12 not bad so far 😁 Thank you for replying my comment. Take care
I'd like to add: when it's below -30, any exposed skin will feel like little pins and needles are hitting your skin and then it will go numb and will feel stiff. When you breathe in cold air like that, you will feel the hairs in your nostrils freeze. Taking in a breath of freezing air can be very refreshing (unless it's when you're scraping ice off your car so early in the morning). Huge snowball fights at school were the most fun times one could have at school; but the teachers usually stopped us because they were scared that thete might be rocks and ice in the snowballs
@Darkness Prevails bro yall Canadians are spoiled lol. You guys don't have to deal with Hurricanes, spiders the size of your face and snakes that will kill you in one bite. Winter is a blessing. Take it from a person that lived in a tropical climate for over a decade.
@@johonanandrewgomes7593 in Canada you have to worry aboot rabid dogs and foxs and trust me you don't want to know how fast foxs run when their rabid. And plus you have to worry aboot the snow storms and wolves that harass you all the time when you live alone in a cabin in a frost bitten barrenland that exceeds the temperatures of -70c. Or lower with the wind chill And trust me a vegan lifestyle won't work down in the north And bears down here are known to push houses and rock them. And bend literal steel rebar that protects your house I'm inuit and I do this everday
@@nelsongreen3393 First time I am hearing about having to worry about foxes, wolves and rabid dogs all in one comment. I think you should start a youtube channel and share your experience, I am sure it will be a lot of fun.
@@MustDoCanada *I'm from Philippines, And the tempereture here is like 25° and It never goes down lol, but I wish I could experience winter someday eh.*
In my country on avarage temperature in the winter are -6 Degrees Celcius but they can reach about to -12 Degrees Celcius in the night,in the spring on avarage its from +12 Degrees Celcius to 4 Degrees Celcius in the night,in summer the avarage temperature is about 30 Degrees Celcius to about 20 Degrees Celcius in the night,in autumn the avarage temperature is about +11 Degrees Celcius and in the night it's +2 Degrees Celcius. It's really not that cold in the winter,or not too hot in the summer. It does snow alot in the winter,it may be a bit warm but that doesn't mean the snow melts quickly,it melts in a few weeks, and the summer is pleasently hot,not like burning hot, moderatly hot, also every season here is made up of 3,we also exprience all of the seasons fully and truly, the winter may be much more pleasent than in Canada but i would like colder weather to see what it's all about, and yes we do expirience solstices, and equanoxes,i like my country very much.
Winter in Canada looks so much more preferable to the one we get in Sweden. Ours is almost no snow until late in December, and most of that snow just turns into slush. Maybe once every 3 years, we get a proper winter with temperatures down to -20 or -25 C. I just love it. The air doesn't get so moist and I can breathe better. I'd love to move to Canada when I get the resources.
Could you please tell us the name of the thermal pant as I could not find it on amazon or if you can post the link to buy it. I found only the normal ones, not the one you have with special layer. Thank you so much.
hmmm, tough to say because it depends on the size of house and where. But some of my family that live in a standard suburban house (1500-2000 sqft) is probably $300/month
Great video! Just one question....what do you guys do if the heater stops working and you suddenly realise that you're freezing cold....and what if it's during the night??....
You'd have to call an emergency "heater guy" to come fix it. It happens all the time to people. I don't think it's happened to us, but we've had issues with our apartment building and someone has to come right away. Pipes start freezing and that sort of thing, which can cause some major issues
@@simplyInvent I mean, it hasn't happened to us. But I'm sure there has been stories of pipes bursting, which can cause some damage. But no one gets hurts. That wouldn't happen. Just damage to the home
@@MustDoCanada oh alright, thanks a tonne for the prompt response inspire of being such a big channel ...I love you videos btw even tho I recently discovered your channel. I have some more questions, it'd be really nice of you if you could reply... How difficult is it for international students from middle East & Asia to adapt to the climate in Canada? Do they tend to fall sick initially?
@@simplyInvent I'm not sure, but my wife was an international student from Mexico. Saw snow for her first time. They all loved it a lot. It was just so different. It was just a small town but they loved being independent and experiencing the snow and nature.... No one got sick.
Very nice video. I’m really glad to see so many canadian winter videos popping up over the past 3-4 years. Winter has always been one reason I love Canada. I’ve lived in Edmonton my whole life, which gets to -30 to -40 for 2-3 months or so in winter, but It’s not real winter without severe sub zero temperatures and a ton of snow. I heard Calgary was supposed to get 60 cm of snow recently. I wish you two luck :)
No, definitely not. It depends on where you are and how big your home is. My parents have a normal suburban home, so about 1600 sq ft 2-storey and it's around $300 per month...
I'm in the UK and shivering at -2 ..i cannot imagine how -20 physically feels on my skin. Canadians are amazing at dealing with one of the harshest climates on the planet.
hmmm, all can be pretty harsh. The only mild areas are Vancouver, Kelowna and Vancouver Island area. Calgary is actually quite mild considering it's proximiity to the mountains. Other than that, generally speaking, the more north the more cold. And the more near a body of water, the more humid (which feels colder)
Most of us park our cars inside the garage especially when you have an attached one like you do. Don't have to plug in or clean the snow off in the morning. Just a tip. Just kidding good video.
You should explain about how no matter how cold it is outside it is still.not as cold as deep outer space. That will make them feel better. NOT!! Don't touch bare metal with bare skin. It gets dark at 4 pm. Frostbite makes your flesh turn black.
I just found your channel and I'm honestly swept away. Your videos look very professional and they are so enjoyable, and the info you share are short and clear. I feel like I get the benefits of a pro documentary with the informal touch of real life people who experience the places they film to the fullest. I am very curious how the lovely Karla (whose wonderful energy pops out the screen) was able to adjust to such a different and extreme climate when she moved to Canada.
Wow, what a thoughtful comment. Thank you. For all our latest videos where we go more into cities, towns, etc, we've been doing them a little more blogging style to suit the platform but I do like this style quite a bit. For Karla, it wasn't that bad. For the most part, you're indoors and when you do go out, if you dress well, it's not that bad. When it's super cold, none of us are used to it haha. But a big part is probably that she enjoys the winter because we like skiing, skating, etc and it looks beautiful. Plus, in the west, the winter is a dry cold. We were just on the east coast and that humidity makes it feel so much worse
And here in India specially in Himalayan region in winters life is beyond hell No light No water No roads No health facilities And administration can't do anything HOPE MY COUNTRY WILL ALSO ONE DAY HAVE ALL THESE FACILITIES IN FAR AREAS ...
I was thinking of moving to Canada but after seeing your video I think its way to cold for me. As a South African I don't think I can do it. Cancelling my working Visa.
very much liked your video sir will you help me to make shure bright future of my girl she is born recently on 5th October 2019 m govt teacher in India don't matter money
Hi Guys, loved the video. We visited BC and Alberta last northern summer. Had a great time in a fantastic truck camper. Here in Australia our winters are never as severe for most of the country. As with Canadians heading far south for your winter we try to head north for ours. Generally anywhere above the Tropic of Capricorn provides a warm to hot winter. Where we live it might get to minus 6C occasionally on a winter’s night. Snow is very rare. A pleasant winter’s day is around 12 to 14 C. Some winter I hear you say! Again thanks for the great video.
Thanks! Glad you liked it. Yeah, we have some family near Perth. They saw some snow once near the mountains there. But that's about it. New Zealand gets a bunch eh?
Nice video for people from warmer climates. I lived in Montana for many years, everything is just as you say. Are you in Kimberley by any chance? The outdoor scenes of skiing, snowshoeing, etc. sure looked like Kimberley.
@Nestor Jr. Abalos you are quite wrong sir, if illegal immigrants may be in very small number, Canadain immigration is really very hard to get, one has to be highly qualified with good work experience plus have an awesome amount of money to come here, still Canada is one of the most beautiful country on earth like heaven,
Only in Canada will you hear someone tell you it's going to warm up to minus 10 tomorrow, it looks beautiful but 5 months of winter is depressingly long .
where abouts in canada is this? If it was mentioned in the video I didnt pick up on it :) my dream is to move to Canada when im older so love seeing these videos :)
@@MustDoCanada pls do that before Nov using your own experience. It would help new immigrants like us to do shopping. If possible pls include shopping tips for kids like ours. Thanks in advance.
@@muktagaur4105 I'm not sure we'll be able to that soon, unfortunately. We will try but we have a bunch of videos we're working on right now. However, I would say it's important to have warm waterproof boots, gloves, and a touque. I don't tend to wear anything over my pants unless I'm skiing or spending significant time outdoors. A good jacket is good too, but at least you can wear layers for the upper bodyy. For general day to day activities, I just wear normal pants like jeans, light winter boots, jacket, gloves, and a touque or ear-muffs. If I'm out doing an activity like skiing or snowshoeing or something like that, then I might add thermal underwear (pants and shirt) and snow pants. You might want to check a thrift store as well, especially since kids grow all the time. Probably good deals!
I used to live in NJ, USA, and the weather in winter was kinda the same, but I LOVED it!! Now I live in Chile and we don't get snow in the region where I live, bummer. Where in Canada are you guys? Cheers from the south!
