Loved this Jeroen - can't wait to visit Greenland with you one day! I agree with the bird shots - those ravens gave a different dimension to the shots. I still can't believe your drone survived the temperatures.

Thanks Aris! I have to say I was also really amazed at how well this tiny little drone performed. I even met two people who told me they didn’t dare to fly so far below the minimum operating temperature. Glad I took the risk 🙂

Thank you Rita! I considered adding a silent part but I felt it would never reflect what I experienced (there’s likely sound around you watching the video anyway). That’s why I decided to put it in words instead 🙂 It’s one of those things you need to experience for yourself, in person.
Great images! Good advice. I would also use hand and foot warmers and a ski face mask (that is what u use for skiing). The warmers last for a long time. On a different topic, I actually signed for one of your trips -- Iceland in September. Hope to see u in real life!

Thanks Greg! No, there are no polar bears there. You can leave town without needing to be armed. I’ve heard on occasion (every 10 years or so) one makes it over there but usually stays clear of the settlements.

Awesome video man, wonderful images you manage to capture! I am going this year in July and i am taking my drone only, i was wondering can you share some info how was the drone operation from boats? Did you need to ask the capitan for permission , were they happy to let you fly the drone everytime, did you need to comply with other people on the boat? I book 3 boat tours for now , but really i am starting to wonder how i am going to fly the drone there, would appreciate any info on that topic !
Thanks a lot! I did not fly from a boat on this trip but always from the shoreline. They don't allow you to fly from regularly scheduled tours. I have an e-book on my website which is all about drone photography and how I create my shots using panoramas. You might be interested in that.
I am travelling to Ilulissat in a few weeks and will likely do a video about it. I would say that both have their advantages. In summer there is more wildlife around and the ice is changing a lot faster. However, winter is cheaper and the conditions are more extreme. Plus you get the chance to see the aurora too. However, winter can be challenging as flights tend to be more unreliable due to unfavourable weather.
