Fabulous Stuart, really made me want to go back to that spot, the first and only time I went I felt so unwell I had to give up and then I tested positive for Covid so off home I went. Love the images .

Stunning conditions you've got there Stuart. Love Borrowdale and the weathers just right I think it's hard to beat. Great set of images with that lovely pano to start. Really like that last shot too - given how cold it was I think that it has a lovely warmth to it (if that makes any sense). Glad to hear that you're over the worst of your illness.

Good to see you vloging again, think I saw you doing a 1to1 by Otter Island last week waiting for the light. Yes,it's been some cracking conditions the past 2 weeks although a bit to cold at times . Love how you can find a composition of a situation that you passed many times, but the light makes a difference.

Stunning photography yet again. You’ve sold that lens to me, I’m mainly a wildlife photographer and absolutely adore my 100-400mm, but you’ve proved that 24-200mm is so amazingly capable, of course it does need your artistic eye for seeing such superb scenes

Stunning set of images Stuart, what beautiful scenery. My Stepdaughter and her partner have gone up to Scotland today for a few day, not sure exactly where but heading towards the Highlands, they want to live there in a few years once she gets her nursing degree, she’s 26 so young enough to try and if it doesn’t work come back home. They’re not photographers but just using their phones without using the Pro settings managed to just capture the Milky Way, the snow is still very deep too, just beautiful. I’ve seen so much beautiful scenery around the Lakes, both in person and on here but also Scotland that even though next year is probably the first year since 2019 that I’m able, both medically and financially, to go abroad, back to where I’ve wanted to live since 1996 in Tenerife, I’m looking to book for a break in the Lakes earlier in the year and a week or two in Scotland late in the year, possibly even Christmas. Think I need to get practicing my Landscape Photography seeing as I’m mainly a Street Photographer

Good to see you back to form and making the most of these great winter conditions. just wondered whether you did a focus stack on the Castle Crag image as you suggested, especially as it was shot @f8, and also whether you focus stacked each element of the pano or just the Castle Crag part. Thanks for a wonderful video.
@StuartMcGlennon
@StuartMcGlennon Год назад
Thanks Michael - yes the left part of the frame is focus stacked as even at F8 DoF was an issue being only about 10 yds from the prominent tree on the right at roughly 70mm

@Stuart McGlennon Hi Stuart good to see your back in good health,..I have the 24-200 for the last year and find I am not using ranges from about 120mm up,so my question is that have you had the opportunity to compare the image quality between the 24-120z and the 24-200z from a printing perspective .
@StuartMcGlennon
@StuartMcGlennon Год назад
Hi Bob - funnily enough I just did a test recently with these two lenses (client lent me the 24-120), I've not done a print comparison though I have scrutinised the files at 200% in Lightroom side by side. My observations are these: the 24-120 is hair sharper up to about 40mm, then from 40mm onwards they're basically the same. If constant aperture/low light shooting isn't a priority where you desperately need F4, for my own work the extra reach is of far more value to me as I frequently shoot between 120-200mm. I'd struggle to give a landscape photographer a good argument to get the 24-120mm as the image quality difference is negligible at best. Where the 24-200 is weakest at the wide end I always use my 14-30mm anyway.
@bobsmurf1601
@bobsmurf1601 Год назад
@@StuartMcGlennon Hi Stuart, thanks so much for your detailed reply you were obviously burning the midnight oil last night, it's great to have this detailed information because it isn't given in any comparison videos and photographer's reviews on RU-vid etc,in general having reviewed comparison videos I have seen very little difference also with the exception of build quality in favour of the 24-120,..thanks again Stuart for the answers I needed, myself mainly I shoot woodland photographyso there's no need to change as having that extra reach for me is far more advantageous than loosing a slight bit of sharpness on the wider side.
@gregorjeric
@gregorjeric Год назад
Do you mainly shoot with 24-200?
@StuartMcGlennon
@StuartMcGlennon Год назад
Yes I shoot many images with it, probably 50/60% of my images
