@waynebauerjr7426
@waynebauerjr7426 3 года назад
Working from a Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge/Ram dealership we do not recommend using Rain-X washer fluid of any kind. The problem is that the Rain-X washer fluid will eventually turn on your low washer fluid light (if equipped). The coating that forms on your windshield also gets on to the sensor forming a barrier on it. It will then think the vehicle is out of fluid kicking the light on. Yes the sensor can be easily cleand by wiping the contacts off with rubbing alcohol.

Pan my car is super duper clean and is coated with Gtechniq CSL and another layer of gtechniq coating. For my preparation, I used a pH netural iron remover to clean the car. There was ZERO iron on my car because i only saw two dots of purple on the entire car after using the iron remover. Then I washed the car and applied Meguiar's hybrid spray wax as a topper to protect my existing ceramic coating. I think my car is good for winter!

Great, well-organized tips, Pan. I'm in Florida but I very enjoyed your video. A good number of the tips are smart no matter the season. The only thing I would add is that it is always a good practice to ensure you have plenty of gas in the tank. The last thing you want to have happen is to be stranded somewhere in either freezing cold weather or even hot sweltering weather because you ran out of gas.

Hi Pan, thanks for another great video. It's just taht I'm not too sure about wiper blades. If you take a new set out of the package and run them down with a wipe, they will leave so much black residue on a wipe that one would like to keep on rubbing until they come off clean. At that point, wiper blades are pretty much ruined because that black stuff coming off the blades is coating that is applied on top of actual rubber. It consists of all kinds of resins, silicone, PTFE, graphite and much more. Once this coating is gone by exploitation or cleaning by misinformed person then only rubber is left and that will not glide over the windshield at all and will deteriorate in very short time due to environmental effects. I'd love to clean them with IPA or give a good scrub, but my experience is that the more you scrub the wipers, the worse they become. I use glass sealants and wipers that have compromised coatings always seem to jump and skip for me. I usually just run a shampoo damp wash mitt over them a couple of times when I do body wash. Than again, I could be completely off my game on this one so any insight or tips on this matter would be very welcome. Thanks

My snow-removal tip is to use a microfiber wash mitt to remove the snow instead of using a brush. Basically “wash” your car with a dry mitt but just move most of the snow off the car. Leave a small layer of snow so that you don’t actually scratch your paint.

1. if you live in a cold environment like I do get a remote start for your car. 2. get a block heater for atleast your oil pan 3. when the winter is here turn your heater fan speed up all the way and set it defrost so when your car is heating up your windshield will slowly defrost, do not heat up your windshield fast it will cause cracks. 5. get good lighting for your headlights preferly led's and a good light bar if you live in remote areas

Hi PAN....Again great video, so much appreciated !!! A tip you didn't mention, in particular for people that may not have a garage, is to either put a piece of carton (big enough in size to cover the whole windscreen) that you put on your windshield underneath the wiper to hold it in place, or even a sun screen, so that your windscreen is not totally frozen up or fogged up in the morning, and also prevents your wipers to stick to the windshield, due to freezing. Hope this helps

Tire companies recomend pressure checking every 3 weeks. And in the winter you should always inflate your tires from 0,2 to 0,3 bar (sorry I am from Europe, and I am not really good with PSI) more than recomended. :) I've been working with tires almost my whole life. Detailing is right after tires on my passion scale 😅.

@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 3 года назад
Thanks Mijje! I'm not a fan of touchless car washing in automatic car washes as they typically use harsh soaps. Those will strip waxes and sealants, and can eventually degrade ceramic coatings. It's "ok" if you do it only once a month, but I wouldn't recommend those every week. It would be best if you bring it to a detailing shop to have a detailer do a proper hand wash when possible.

Great tips! I disagree with the one about the windshield though. Yes, it's a good idea to decontaminate the windshield with wash/clay/polish/ipa, but I would leave it there. I have tried all the main brand glass sealants and while they do an amazing job at first, in a few weeks (at best, especially in winter), the product degrades and leaves horrible streaks on the windshield after you use your wipers. During the day it's not so bad, but during night time, which is the majority of the time in winter, it's terrible as you cannot see out of the windshield. The road grime constantly being sprayed on, the wipers, the ice scraping, the maintenance washes and the windshield washer fluid will eat at the coating quite quickly. If you want good visibility, get a good set of wiper blades and clean the windshield and wiper blades regularly with a glass cleaner.

Hi Pan, I'm following you since this spring, and thank you I learned soooo much ! Before I know you, I ordered quite a few Chemical Guys products and I did an overall job on my car. I cleaned it, clayed it, polished it, apply a sealant (jet seal CG) and a wax (CG also). And now I apply once in a while, the ''Bead maker'' you suggested, from P & S. MY QUESTION : if the paint sealant should last approx. 1 year and the wax 3 months, how do I add a another layer of wax after 3 months ? I guess I don't clay it again because I'll take off the paint sealant ? Can I add wax only after cleaning the car, without using the clay bar ? Thank you so much and because of you , now I know which good product to buy and what to do. Thanks again !!!!

Hi Pan, new sub here! I’m hoping you could give me a little advice! I just bought a 2016 Honda HRV EX-L and although I love the Black paint, it needs some major TLC! My goal is to remove as many scratches & swirls as possible and protect it for the upcoming winter. This will be my first time using a DA Polisher so I don’t feel comfortable tackling a major/multi step paint correction process. So I’ve spent the past week researching/watching many of your reviews and I purchased the products (listed below) I felt were best for me to use as a beginner in paint correction. Here is a list of the products I purchased and the order in which I plan to use them: 1. Chemical Guys Clean Slate Wash *wash the car 2-3 times* 2. Adam’s Iron Remover *wipe down prior to Clay Bar* 3. Chemical Guys Clay Bar & Lube *Clay Bar the paint” 4. Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic BLACK Polish 5. 6” DA Polisher 6. Chemical Guys Orange Hex Polishing Pads 5. Turtle Wax Ceramic Spray Coating *2-3 applications, 24hrs in-between coats* My main question is, would I get better results by polishing the car more than once? I don’t expect to remove all the scratches/swirls in one step using the TW Ceramic Black Polish, but I’d like to get the best results possible. I was thinking about polishing it a second time using a softer foam finishing pad..do you think that would improve the overall finish? I’m a big fan of what you do and love your channel. I’d really appreciate your feedback!! Thanks Pan!
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 3 года назад
Hi Dakota! First, since you subbed to my channel, let me officially welcome you to the Pan TheOrganizer family! You're on the right path for a first time polishing experience. Good job! I strongly recommend that you watch my super popular paint polishing tutorial for beginners here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X2qjO5xZZ2E.html You are right in setting your expectations for the all-in-one TW Ceramic Acrylic Black Polish. Being a one step, it won't give you the same amount of paint correction a proper 2 or 3-step polish routine will give you, that's totally normal. It should however provide you with 80% correction, removing a good part of swirls and scratches, removing oxidation, restoring gloss and clarity to your paintwork, and also laying down a foundation layer of ceramic protection that will act as a primer for the Ceramic Spray Coating. You would machine polish using the Ceramic Acrylic Black Polish. Buff off. Wait 24 hours. Apply 1st coat of Ceramic Spray Coating. Wait 24 hours. Apply 2nd coat. You should be good with 9-12 months of protection. Only 2 coats are needed. You will not achieve better results by polishing a second time with the same polish and compound combination. To get better results, you would have to move to a 2 step polish process. Starting with a compound like 3D One and a microfiber pad like Buff and Shine URO Fiber pad, and then use a finish polish like Sonax Perfect Finish. @PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 3 года назад
Thanks Alfredo! That's a tough question as I'm not there to assess the smell and I don't know how it got there, what surfaces are affected etc. It can be as easy as vacuuming and spraying a bit of deodorizer, or as complicated as needing a simple to use odor eliminator type deodorizer like this: amzn.to/32l6rEM or it can be more complicated an require an ozone generator... Maybe have it assessed by a local detailer if you can.

Just want to clarify: Winter tires are NOT meant to evacuate snow, ice, or water. They are meant to accumulate snow to increase resistance. Snow tires are terrible on dry/wet pavement.
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 3 года назад
Hmmm. There are many articles on this topic online. Winter tires are designed to move water. When a tire presses down on snow or ice, it melts the top layer, creating a thin film of water (the same phenomenon that occurs as a skate glides across a rink). If the water isn't moved away from the area in front of the tire, the car will hydroplane. This is why winter tires are covered with grooves (including tiny channels known as "sipes") that move water away to the sides, allowing the tire to stay in contact with the surface. Current winter tire technology focuses on shallower treads with closely spaced grooves that carry away the water film created when the tire presses down on ice or snow.

road salt is a killer to the car's finish!! I used to live in New England was a pain to keep car clean. Hey Pan will glass polish get rid of small pitting?
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 3 года назад
No. If there is material missing, polishes can't restore missing glass. Just like when you have stone chips on your paint, polishes can't restore those. You need to do touch-ups or repaint the panel. However, a glass polish will clean up the glass and restore optical clarity that's for sure, and will help remove gunk that is in those pits and make them less glaring while driving.

@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 3 года назад
Stripping soaps alone won’t fully remove old protection. They only start the breaking down process. That’s ok if you’re only going to apply a new wax or sealant. But if you plan on applying a ceramic coating, multiple steps are needed to ensure 100% removal of the previous protection, including machine polishing. To give you an idea of the steps involved, watch my full car detailing video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tjJPcdCUaK8.html
