Winter Series 2012-13: Republic Services Par-Kan Pickup

I was finally able to find this little unit collecting. One of Republic's pickup trucks was outfitted with a Par-Kan dump body. This unit is used to collect missed stops as well as hard to reach areas if the normal Pack Rat (2017) is down. It is also commonly used to help Phil on his recycle route. They simply drive it around and collect, then after about 40 stops take it over and dump the load right into his bucket. i was able to film two load transfers, and they will be posted in a later video. It's definitely a neat system to watch! Thanks to the driver for making this video possible!

Nice Work! never seen that kind of body on a pickup before. I remembr when I 1st moved to my new place, recycling in my area started out with a Ford F250 diesel powered pickup with a hydraulic liftgate from WM. But he loaded the 2 stream recycling in seperate large sacks in the truck.

Thanks! Yeah this is a neat little truck! He can get about 50 stops on here... usually takes around an hour to fill.

how funny I got a quick clip of WM doing the same thing by my house. You gotta stop holding back im going to foward 2 videos so check em out. I seen a pic you posted of this truck dumping into the curotto. I really hope you filmed it.

where i live in town of tonwanda new york i saw a truck just like this it's belonged to wm it had a tipper on back not sure were it was going thought. it was so cool

Are these still being used? This is one of your classics IMO. Very cool seing this setup in action and this big guy can move...and squeeze in/out of that pickup. Great catch. I can't believe I hadn't commented before.

I've always wanted to see this in action. Thanks for the full video! I enjoyed watching that little truck fill up. Does that whole load fit into the front load bucket? Awesome & friendly driver too.
