And to see her perform this with the wonderfully talented Ingrid Michaelson is just icing on this delicious musical cake! Love this song. Even Obama couldn't help but crack a smile. His kids looked bored and uninterested in the beginning, but at the end they them couldn't stop smiling.

I would love to believe these two are friends. I am also incredibly impressed that their voices sounded so well in the cold. Ingrid's nose is almost purple!!
They are, in fact, quite good friends. Especially now that Sara has moved to NYC, so they're in the same town. They each attended each other's concerts (and tweeted about it) in the past month.

This song was such an incredible vehicle for me when I was processing my cancer diagnosis. I still come back to it and listen once in a while. I remember the hope of love being alive be earned the winter snow. I am especially moved at 3:42 seeing Michell Obama’s mother’s tears, and I wonder what this song meant to her.

A favorite song for more than a decade now. Sara and Ingrid are two of the best singer-songwriters the world deserves to know, listen to, and admire with such powerful songs they showcase year after year.
