Jay, 99% of the chefs are men. Your statement is so 1800s. You think that he has to be married in or being in a relationship with a women in order to have a decent meal. You should definitely come out of that primitive thinking.
I'm researching rooftop tents and so VERY much appreciated your videos. In return, I offer this tip: At the grocery store, go to the soup aisle, locate the broth section, then buy the one in the BLACK box. The brand is "Imagine". Best broth ever. Perfect for camping. Organic too! Just remember to "Imagine a black box" and you'll find it no problem. Cheers and thanks again!
Kudos!! Well done!! Enjoyable and most informative “what if“ video! The body-bag gag set me to pondering… So I was imagining… Why not make the pod’s stowage-bag out of the same/similar insulated reflective material? The bag could serve a dual purpose as a sleeping bag/bivvy. All the best and safe travels.
PNW, can’t make up into the mountains, one of the jeep almost sliding down the cliff. Incline with sharp turn with snow is no joke. Transporting my shiftpod on roof, got soaking wet by the rain. Next day wipe down the water inside out.
Love camping in the snow in a tent. Thanks for having me along on this one. Great spot to winter camp too. Hey, get your truck bed sprayed soon. Any scratches will start to rust. And a spray in lining looks good too!
Any butt-crack can camp during blue-sky weather. Foul-weather camping is so much more challenging and fun. Snow, rain, extreme heat, and water camping are all fun too!
i pulled 4 months up in southern Utah mountains camping the winter in my tent within a tent, it was actually fun i loved it. Cold as a mofo but awesome!!
Honestly Broski... I cannot believe that you don't have at least 3times the amount of subscribers on your channel that you have right now.!?!?! Love your videos, please keep them coming!!! 👍💪✌️👌👊
I'm pretty paranoid about that "old snow" in spring. Every year, up in Colorado, there were stories of someone who slid off a mountain side or slipped to their deaths on a hiking trail in April or May, when winter still has a grip on the high country. You guys be careful out there!
I just found the shift pod ac week ago because I was looking for the BEST Four Season shelter because I want to combine it with my invention, a Rocket Stove (in the-ground) Earthen Thermal Mass Heating System! It will heat a 100 +/- shelter easily, AND It will help keep it cool in summer also because Earth temps are always lower than ambient temperature.
The bad thing about the shift pod in the cold is that the materials absorb condensation. We had to remove the bottom and leave it in the house for a few days. If you don't . It will mold
I think I want to join you on a camp out just for the meals! Really cool tent, I figured it would be expensive, but almost fell out of my chair when I saw the website!!😬 But it looks like you get what you pay for, seriously high quality tent.
New subscriber! I've watched at least a couple videos of yours now and enjoyed both! I love camping and watching your videos brought back camping memories! Stay safe and God bless!
F that camping is the definition of social distancing. We're going tomorrow, we won't go to any of the local stores once we arrive. Just straight to the national Forrest. No harm no foul.
On your rooftop tent pros & cons vid, i was thinking that your buddy could have a shorty rack built that would bring the tent to the same height as the cab or slightly higher but still low enough to get into a garage and that would give him more storage space in the bed of the truck. Just a thought. BTW! Where is this campground?
Dude, awesome video. Looks like a blast. Beautiful scenery. No mountains for me to enjoy here in the midwest. I want to go winter camping with you guys.......as long as Shawna sends more food! Holy Smokes! Now that's some good looking grub.
Who wishes that they could know how to be out in wilderness and living off grid including food source, The way things are going this is the way to survive the madness .
Hi, apart from maybe water resistance properties, I believe the shiny surface facing the outdoor is counter intuitive. It reflects radiation heat. It would make more sense to have shiny (metallic) surface facing inside of the tent. It will retain the radiation heat from whatever is inside the tent.
The tent I believe was originally designed for hot desert conditions, hence the extra exterior reflectivity for broad spectrum radiation. I think the winter-use application of this tent is more of an afterthought, so there is no internal reflective coating. Regardless, no other winter camping tent has internal reflective surfaces, and very few if any have built-in insulation material either. Combined with a zipper to optionally remove the floor, this tent does make an intriguing prospect for winter use.
stuffed jalapenos are my favorite so heres my recipe: 1 block of cream cheese 1 pack of bacon (i like thin bacon for this but any will do) half as many jalapenos as there are slices of bacon (usually I get 10) to prepare: pull stem off and slice jalapeno length wise remove seeds and insides (don't touch your eyes or any other sensitive areas until after you wash your hands multiple times) now for the cream cheese just slice it up and put it in the jalapenos. nows a good time to add stuff like onions or shredded cheese or bacon bits, if you do that mix it into the cream cheese first wrap the jalapenos tightly with bacon I cook at 430 in the oven for 15 mins and check them and see how done they are, medium high on the grill or you can cook them in a pan. all you have to do is cook the bacon so its really easy as long as you dont burn them
Never heard of them. Clam makes a similar origami ice-fishing shelter. Ya gotta figure if they hold up on a frozen lake in midwinter, they'll hold up to anything.
This is the life time out with your mates and your dog , but best of all your wife's tremendous food package on the road with you , NOW THAT IS WHAT I CALL A BRILLIANT , DEDICATED LOVING WIFE , I WAS WANTING TO EAT SOME OF THAT FOOD MYSELF , MAY YOU HAVE MANY MANY MORE TIME OUTS LIKE THIS ONE ,👍👍👍👍👍👍😂😂😂😂
So that's the pups name. Who's her papa? I had an American Staffordshire Terrier I named Goldie. Looked almost exactly like Coda. Sadly I lost her 10 maybe 15 years ago. Arguably the best dog I ever had. Coda brings back a lot of memories. Thank you for that.
Aww man I'm so bummed I had to back out of this one...I can't believe the food I missed. Oh yeah, okay, and hanging with my friends would've been nice. But...the food!!
I love this pair, I totally concur with comment below so left a thumbs up. Happy pair always make me laugh, a get together in this awful time, way to go mate. xxxxx
Those tents are are pretty awesome. Saw them at Flagstaff last year, but they take up a lot of space and are pretty expensive. With that said, probably one of the best 4 season tents out there.
You know how you go out camping and maybe practice some bushcraft skills, in vids with little dialog so you can take in the silence, shelters made from the natural environment, and simple, manly, makeshift meals cooked over a campfire with a trusty kit or new stick? So calm, so serene. Yeah, and then theres these guys.
