@CheapRVliving Amazing!! May I ask if there have been any inquiries on dust, shall I call it? Well, what I'm getting at is there are unfortunately many people who have autoimmune disorders where the environment has to be nontoxic or else they are just often times miserable as in it's debilitating and many need to get out of their homes from biotoxin illness from the home and so getting on the road in a compacted vehicle 🤔 well, has ANYONE discussed this? Is it possible for you to do so, Mr. Bob? I am a mommy and I'm looking to this and hoping to find a community of peaceful caring people who help each other out 😊 thank you!!

I have that heater, really it's a flame diffuser, but was also worried about protecting the space above it. The cake pan and flue material is a great idea.

That back piece, I wonder if you could use a couple tin foil turkey pans or foil sheets pans since it's just to redirect the heat right? 😮
@billmodlin9713
@billmodlin9713 10 месяцев назад
Do yourself a favor. If you're going to use the heater core buy a dual fuel (butane and propane) cooktop. It's another $25-$35 and well worth it since butane can be hard to find and expensive when you do.

You could probably fabricate the whole shield out of a #10 can like they use in restaurants. Cut off one end, snip up the sides. At least if you bump it there aren't two hot pieces to reassemble.

I’d like to add a cautionary tale here… following the great ideas of other nomads, I picked up a terra cotta pot and used it with the same cook stove shown here. It heated my tiny camper (6x8) beautifully. HOWEVER: I rationalized that in such a small space if I opened the window, it would negate all the warmth I’d produced. Then… I dozed off… my cat and I woke at the same time 2 hours later… she seemed to be sneezing, while I had a sensation of burnt nasal passages, throat, mouth, lips and a wicked headache. Had to open the camper up at 3 a.m., IN 38 degrees, and step outside in the cold to try and get some relief. It wasn’t so much the fumes as the sense of…. having had to run out of a building on fire and getting heat burned along the way. So: yeah. Gotta crack the window.

@mojo7493
@mojo7493 6 месяцев назад
I don't know the name of them but you see those little cube "air coolers" advertised or at walmart that you put water in and it blows cool air. I was extremely skeptical but they actually do help a little to take the edge off the heat if you have it blow directly on you up close. I'm in a 6x10 tin trailer and got confined to bed for a week with covid during the summer and it would get into the mid to high 90s inside my trailer. I put that cooler right next to me and spritzed my bed clothes with water and it made me comfortable. You do have to refill the water about every 2 hours but I only needed it during the mid to late afternoon hours so it worked out.

His stove looks to be butane. I have one also and prefer it over propane but FYI, when it gets close to freezing the butane wont stay lit when you first start it up. If you shake the can it warms it up but you have to repeat a few times. To avoid the fuss, after last use at night, I take the can out of the stove, recap it, roll it up in a thick towel and then put it in an extra pillow or the warmest spot in the camper. That way in the morning when I get up the can is warm enough for the butane to stay lit. Also that fan is a game changer-it quickly circulates warm air through out the camper!

I forget where I saw it, but more humidity in the air maintains the ambient temperature vs. that of a dry environment.

Yes. The stove heater is sitting on is designed to use indoors. Works on the same principle as a kitchen natural gas or propane stove. All gas burning appliances must be used with adequate ventilation.
