The leads are outstanding, not just in quality but the sheer amount of them. I’m not particularly blown away by the meat of the music, but it sounds good, maybe on repeated listens my impression of it will grow, or diminish. This year has been incredible for music, particularly metal, so they are not just in “competition” with themselves but with all the other fantastic releases. On top of that the wait for this has been astronomical, so it adds an extra layer and lvl of hype that is proving difficult to overcome or live up to for me, atleast atm.

Ashamed to admit, but I’ve been out of touch with music this year unfortunately, except for the Time Package. Since you clearly have a good taste, what other releases would you recommend?
We all know what Jari meant now when he said Time I was a demo. Back then we just thought: no, how can it be better? Sons was already the best song ever written and it cements its status here. No song beats Sons, but Time II is just as good as Time I as a whole, if not better. The second spin of Time II is such a big thing (like with Time I), because you discover so many more elements making it complete. Layered and complex, and insanely epic.
Forest is a great album but I think I like this one more.

Which is perfectly fine. For me personally this is all I’ve ever wanted from music in one place. That being said, I love TFS and I can fully understand where you come from🤘🏼
Damn, that's crazy how different tastes can be. Personally Forest Seasons is the only album by Wintersun I think is actually pretty weak compared to the rest of the albums.
Give it a couple of more spins. This is a much more complex album (or part albums). You aren't able to focus more than 3 things at a time. Hope you have a good headset and the .wav files. Time I and II are much more aural skill demanding than The Forest Seasons, but taste is subjective.
