They didn't get rid of it. My reasoning is this: she is the princess of solaria and a royal member that can posses the ring of solaria which is the source of her powers. We see her use it until season 3 when she earns enchantix but since a fairy is called a full fairy when she earns her enchantix that means that she doesn't need to use her ring as a souce of her power.

As soon as Stella became a true fairy (Enchantix) she doesn't need to rely on some sceptre to use her powers. "A sceptre is not what makes a princess"

In season 3 she earns her enchantix meaning she is a true fairy and the ring was the source of her power in seasons 1-2 until she earns her enchantix not that she couldnt be powerful with it she could be but remember as a member of the royal family of solaria meaning she can teleport spell now instead of the ring

@Leah Jamison I saw rainbows too, my first rainbow was when I was in kindergarten, after school, my mom dad and I had an errand to run, it was raining, the Sun was shining, when we got to Home Depot, I saw my first rainbow, I saw red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet, but not pink.

In my language she's called the fairy of the sun and moon

It might be because you know the Nickelodeon version and the last seasons where she presents herself as the fairy of the shining sun. But in the original series by Rai she is called the sun and moon fairy.
