Wow, what a video to watch. My son went into the Marine Corp straight out of high school in 2003, in January 2004 my 19 year old was off to Iraq..Oh my gosh, that was the hardest time in my life, he did 2 tours in Iraq, they asked him to do a 3rd decided to get out in 2007. He suffers from PTSD but it is under control. He is married, has a beautiful wife, 2 beautiful girls and a successful career as a football coach in Kentucky. I'm not going to sugar coat it for you. To this day our relationship has never been the same due to many life choices we have both made over the years..hold on to your children, but not too tight. The one thing I would love to do is take a hot air balloon ride..love, love, loved this WIP n chat..touching on "retreats" I about fell over when you mentioned the issues in our community. My feeling is everyone should be accepted no matter what their social economical status is period..our days in high school are over..

Thank you for these words. I am so afraid to hold her so hard that she resents me, but I am also afraid to be left behind. This is what we raise them for, right? It's not easy. Sending you love as well. Glad I am not alone.

Give yourself grace with what you are feeling. It’s valid when our babies want to go conquer the world and we have to be an audience to it. She will come back home everytime she needs her momma. Trust me.

I think for the retreat idea you can have an open zoom for it too so those that can't travel can pop in and see and your guests can come say hi too

I feel your pain. My daughter and I are super close. She is in grad school 4 hours away and I miss her desperately every day. I try to focus on what an amazing human she is and is becoming and I treasure every moment that we are together!

We are proud but it is SO INCREDIBLY HARD to view them as anything other than the bawling baby we carried on our hip. I can't wait to see her continue to grow. Thanks for your words!

Great video !!!! I'm scared to death of heights also. Maybe do what I did babysteps. I agreed to go zip lining in Cancun Mexico and I loved it. Still scared of heights but I can now make myself go higher and still feel ok. Sky diving? It not the hight I'm scared of but the landing....lol
