Very helpful, because I wish to adapt a wiper mechanism to make a bird swisher to scare them away from my fruit crop. I would prefer to have a random delay timer in the circuitry so that the birds never work out just when the stem is going to arc across, just like a wiper blade arm.
It is two 4-bar machanisms associated. The first is a Grashof quadrilateral, meaning that the smallest link can make a complete revolution (Crank). The follower bar oscillates and therefore is a Rocker. The oscillation motion is used by the second 4-bar mechanism, which is a non Grashof quadrilateral (no link can make a complete revolution).
