I live in a remote area of Death Valley, which is obviously very different to Unst. I live in the desert which is extremely hot in the summer (50 degrees), but the remoteness and beauty of the landscape makes me feel a kind of kinship with what I see in this beautiful video.
Thank you so much for this film, Alison. Special greeting to Kevin for his gorgeous…utterly beautiful, black and white stills. They are works of art in my opinion.
Just discovered this your video, so nice! I'm from Sweden , and would love to visit with the children , think they would love it!! Love of course your knitwear ...and can't wait to try some shetland wool very soon
I have really enjoyed this video, l have been to Shetland & went to some of the places mentioned so thanks for this great video, l say well done to the person who made this video 👍✅🌷🌷🌷
I wonder if your ancestors lived in the ruined Viking house you visited - or indeed if they lived in one of the brochs. I was able to visit a couple of grave yards in Skye and many of the surnames were familiar from my family tree research (my paternal grandfather's family was from Skye). And yes, this was a lovely video, thank you!
My ancestors on my fathers side can apparently be traced to James I Scotland! but my mothers side could well be from a viking house I'm guessing! Interesting to hear of your Skye connections :)
