Exactly!! Your best bet is to try and teach yourself to loosen up. But if you can't seem to manage that, use the 2" spring clamps, which you can get at any hardware store, or walmart.

Too bad you don't post anymore. I love the idea of separating the base wires with the wrapping wire at the beginning of the work. I'm just starting out, so it's very helpful because I always have a problem with squeezing too much.

Just to let you know, I also just learned the weave where you pull the wire out and bend it back (your last one shown) and I use round wire in the middle and 1/2 round to wrap and it lays really nice, nicer than round wire - just thought I'd suggest it, maybe you could try it. :)
Yeah, the 2 in the middle are actually half round. :) I definitely agree that it gives a much better look!! Thank you very much for your input, it's always appreciated. ❤
The beginning is fast and confusing. I guess I'm not used to holding it straight up. And for this reason it's hard to tell what your first and third wire are.
The first wire is always the leftmost wire for me... and when it comes to holding your wires, I like to use a 2" rubber tipped spring clamp. This acts like a third hand that has excellent grip. Honestly, the spring clamp was the biggest help for me starting out, and I still use it to this day.
Yeah, I would take those back and go to your local hardware store. They have the rubber tipped spring clamps, which close completely and work great. :)
