I HAVE to get the thinner AND the cans because I use Plastidip rarely. It's JUST when I use aluminum. Which is rarely. 😆 So it dries out. I THOUGHT it was because I left it open but now I truly doubt that.

I know this is an old comment but this is what I sort of want to use for earrings - how does the gold/yellow colours compare to real gold colour? I wear gold jewellery only but obviously buying gold wire is insanely expensive😭 so I want something hypoallergenic but with a gold colour haha!

The altering you're talking about doing is shady af &...disrespectful to the craft, tbh, imo. I mean unless you're being extremely upfront about it... though even then, I guess this is a potential sorta purist attitude but the added "value" yr talking about isn't actually value: it's a misleading of perception. It's slight of hand. It's like...idk it's vulgar.

@@JesBewsey I hear what you're saying. I wasn't talking passing off simple quartz as something it's not.. Where I live I can find actual emerald, rubies, and even silver or at abandoned mines.. that's what I meant by free if you know where to look. And semi precious stones can be touched up a little, but at the end of the day will never make anyone rich. It is mostly fun playing with their shape and polishing them down. And no, I would never sell off copper filled 50% silver wire as .999 or even sterling. And yes, proper gold IS expensive and doing the soldering for high value pieces takes skill. I'm not talking about making s**t shine and passing it off as what it's not here. And this IS a fun craft in it's own right. Not many people have a lot of money to begin with to spend on much these days. Making more simple pieces for the heck of it or as gifts is fun itself. And having inexpensive but still decent pieces or even just gifts is good too. One good deed can go a long way when people keep paying it forward. So you don't need to worry about me doing what you probably thought I was. And yes, the ink/mica touched up rocks are sold as exactly what they are.. people are only willing to pay for them if they feel it's worth the price. Which is low.. I do have other connections in the jeweler market for pieces that have more of a name than mine to re-sell etc.. It DOES take some time to build up the funds for the amount of metals needed to produce THOSE types of pieces, and skill when one doesn't have the chain wrapping machines.. which is why I stick to mostly silver for that... Gold when I can afford it or just straight up sell the 50% wire as what it is.. or melt down other discarded pieces etc.. I am sorry if I offended.. I understand this channel is mostly for the art side. This is one of those hobbies that branches off into a full on trade in it's own right as well. I hope I cleared up enough for you because I understand exactly what you were thinking there... and just no... These are already hard enough times for people and I just want the entire world to be able to move on. And yes it is relaxing just wrapping wire and doing maille weaves etc for the sheer sake of it.
