Excellent as always! Really loved the last one you showed. Can't wait till I have some time to experiment with all the new techniques. Thanks so much for the great tutorials.
I haven’t watched all of your videos yet so you probably answer this already but I can’t wait to find it. How are you using these wraps? You can just point me to the video if you have one showing this, thanks. Your videos are great learning tools. Thanks
For aliens what I've been doing is using 3 core wires, 24g HR/HH. 30g for the alien, and whatever gauge square you feel cozy with for the core. I do 22 or 24 usually. Using paperclips/tape can help keep those wires parallel while constructing them. I typed this out before I got to your segment in the video on the aliens, curious to see how you execute yours! Thanks again for what you do in the community, Nolan.
Ahhhhh the 3 half rounds is a great idea! I bet it makes it much easier to keep them flat/parallel! Not to mention reduces the bulk. That’s a great tip! The paper clips is a great idea as well, I’ll have to give that one a go
Do you use these coils for brackets and necklaces mainly? If so, how would you go about making proper endings for a clasp? I’m amazed by this technic and want to play with it! Thank you!!!
I Love your videos! And as a result of them I am adding to my own knowledge of wire wrap/weaving.... Thank you, so much!.... Now - where can I purchase some of your art?
Thank you very much for the awesome video - Question: Can the coils be gently shaped around a larger dowel without disrupting the coil pattern? Thanks again!
I have really gotten into your videos recently and I think you do a ridiculously incredible job but in the future, is it possible for you to record in higher resolutions? I think for this material in particular, that would be a big improvement.
Where can I buy a pair of those beefy nylon pliers? Also I watched in another video of yours and saw some amazing half round pliers. What website would you recommend to pick these babies up?
I use to make alien coils for my vape. I was wondering is there a reason you don’t use a drill to wrap the core wires it takes some practice but cuts the wrapping of the core wires a million times faster. But back to my question is there a reason why ?
Someone suggested using a paperclip instead of any form of tape ~ I have yet to try that out myself, but I thought I'd share the info with you, too, Cassandra.
I saw a video a year or two ago of someone making their own coils for a vape... thing and they used the same method as the alien coil. Looked really cool.
As a general rule, give or take, if I want a finished coil of 2 inches, how long do I need to make the component coils so that I don't come up short or have too much wasted? Thanks for all your tutorials!
Are you a vaper by any chance, if not, I suggest taking a look at some of the coil builders from the vape industry. You could get a lot of knowledge from them I think. There work is all over IG and utube
I'm impressed with your hand spinning, but damn dude, get a drill lol If nothing else, it will clean up the claptons. Also you should try your hand at a tsuka coil, it's best done by hand rather than on a drill, so it would probably come naturally to you
I do have a drill but I prefer to do it by hand anyways. Occasionally I’ll use the drill if it’s a particularly long coil, but for most of my work it’s short enough not to feel like I need the drill
