CarPlay never disconnected when you turned the car off. It takes a few minutes for the car to shutdown everything and end the connection. When coming into the car, the original connection screen from the adapter loads first and then CarPlay launches.

Shame you have to unlock the phone first, is there anyway around this ?. Currently have a wireless CarPlay in my bmw and don’t have to touch the phone in order for it connect.

Don't think there is any way around this unfortunately. I just mount my phone on the belkin stand, unlock, wait for CarPlay to fire up, then lock.

Wow .. will this work in any car ? E.g BMW X6. Edit: Iv seen the description and it didn’t list bmw so I guess I can’t have it 😞

Do you need to first have apple carplay installed to use this, or does this install carplay for you with the use of the adapter?

Excellent question! Yes, you would need Apple CarPlay functionality already installed as part of your cars system - HOWEVER, lets say you don't have it - there is another device you can get that adds the functionality for you, and I just launched the video for it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1OA8vHo86EU.html

Hi, excellent video. can you connect more than one phone? or it will just recognize the phone you configured first?

Hi. It only recognises 1 phone only unfortunately. What I would have to do is disconnect the adapter, and then connect another phone directly via USB so that Apple CarPlay picks it up. Because this adapter wirelessly auto starts CarPlay based on the first phone that was configured with it. It would be too much of a hassle to re-configure everything just to connect a different phone every time.

Hello, I am about to buy a 2019 velar. For some reason it has not got the maps built in and no feature for apple Play or Android play . However the car has a blue tooth functionality . My question is , if I buy this device - will it enable the apple play ( even though the valar hasn’t got the option built in) Appreciate your reply , as my decision might be based on it. Thank you

Hi! Unfortunately not - your car needs to have the Apple CarPlay option added to its software for this to work. This adapter simply allows you to load it but just wirelessly. I would ask Land Rover to update the software in your car to include Apple CarPlay, because that has been available for a while now.

My 2017 diesel Range Rover, the CarPlay connection drops all of a sudden for absolutely no reason in the middle of the drive. Would that adapter help? Thanks

You should see Apple CarPlay on the main screen menu as an option to load (without any attachments)

Unfortunately not. Only CarPlay apps are supported, and gallery videos and RU-vid are not supported
