Just installed this and would 100% recommend. Works perfectly and watching this video while installing made it so easy. Just two minor things. You need a step bit so that you can drill the hole in the center armrest and also buy the panel removal kit that they sell makes everything 10x easier.
Thank you so much for this video! Dealer wanted to charge $4744 to fix display in my wife's Q50 which was in a reboot loop. I read some forums, watched this video, bought a used display and fixed it for much much much less. Your detailed instructions for disassembling dash were fantastic! Thank you!
I really want this in my car! But I want this guy to install it for me. I don’t think I could trust anyone else to do an amazing Job. This guy really knows his sh*t!
Incredibly easy to install for someone with no experience. Got it installed in 2 hours. The hardest part was making the hole since I had a shitty screwdriver
Out of all the videos I’ve watched on any subject matter, this video is outstanding. Well described processes, necessary steps and general information. Thank you very much.
Infiniti totally messed up with their contract with Intel but this seems to partially fix that issue. Once Android can be used FULLY wirelessly I will purchase for my Q50. Great video!
Just installed this, took a couple hours and everything works great. Only thing is there’s still that bluetooth audio lag, and the steering wheel skip buttons are backwards. If anyone knows a fix please let me know
I see you drilled the hole in the center console to connect the USB cable can this step be bypassed if you are going to connect wirelessly or must that cable be ran into the module regardless of wired or wireless use?
With Apple device it will work both with wire and wireless. Android device is currently by the wire only. The USB should still be wired for Update purposes and if you are planing to use multiple phones with the vehicle. Thank you.
I did it and at first the screen came out white. Then I contacted customer service and they said it could be the big film and sure enough it was. It wasn’t hard to be honest it’s the screwing down that was a bit tiring. I have the 2015 Q50.
I just installed in my 2016 Q50S and the sound quality is poop when using the wired connection. Any suggestions on how to get good sound quality for my music and phone calls? Easy install and seems to be working perfectly otherwise but with poor sound quality it defeats the entire purpose of installing and using it...
I have the Unavi (Wired only) Carplay kit At first my audio was also not as good. But the fix i found using turning on the “Sound Check” option in the music settings. Try that and see if it works for you. It helped me out “drastically”.
If you follow all the steps correctly and your screen is just WHITE, you probably have some wires on the old motherboard bord and the new motherboard lose, make sure they are connected properly, I had to take mines apart all over again
@@cgrahamhott3140 yeah they do. The only thing… when I’m plugged in usb the CarPlay cuts out. I just replug it and it comes back on. But it does it often. Wifi works great
Please check a local car stereo shop/car audio shop. If you bring them our device, and they have good reviews, they should be able to install with no problems. Thank you
I had my GTA car kit installed today in my Q50. It works fantastic. I’m very happy with this product. Vitaly from GTA car kits was able to explain how everything works. And his install was flawless. I highly recommend this product to all compatible q50 owners. What a GREAT UPGRADE. Thanks Vitaly @GTACARKITS.
How do you toggle back and forth between the android OS and apple car play? Is there a back to home for the android op screen or a way to get out of CarPlay not back to the factory screen
If my q50 doesn't have the micro SD slot, will the navigation system on the new set up give me navigation? I don't currently have navigation or the sd slot.
@@gtacarkits I got the 360 camera on my car and the sensor detects something nearby when I'm parking, the camera will automatically turn on so I can see what in the way. Will the camera system automatically still come on when the sensor go off or do I have to be in the factory setup to use this feature
Hello! I installed this kit according your instructions, but got one problem. Q50, 2017. Than I turn on a car, CarPlay is loading and goes to screen but iPod doesn’t find, “iPod not connected”. I have to restart car couple times and than iPod is found… any advises how to fix it?
So I plugged phone on a bam it works with Android Auto. Only issue is no sound which I'll figure out later... also honestly see no benefits of this option. Oringinal Bluetooth to car works just fine to me. Someone please tell me what's so good about android auto that would be worth this installation?? Again I bought my car with this installed already and only found out cause of this video...
I know these support both Wired and Wireless Apple Carplay. However, does anyone know if Wireless Android Auto works now? Or is it still only Wired Android Auto?
For mine, it constantly gets laggy and the app is not responding when you touch the screen, is there a firmware upgrade to android 12 to make it smoother?
I bought the car with this already Installed. I was always wondering what the mic and that other cable were for but after watching the video. I must have this installed already. What's the purpose of this installation?
Apple carplay made it worth it. The original navigation is bad in my opinion. I’m able to control a lot now (music, gps, messaging, etc) without having to pull out my phone. It’s not really necessary, but a nice luxury to have.
It is connected to stock speakers, original microphone not possible to use. The GPS antenna is not nessesray, the GPS data comes from your phone directly, not from our module. Thank you.
Hi, i accidentally sliced that thin black wire in the screen and I don't know what to do,as now the screen doesn't turn on only turns on white when in reverse. please help!
Super video but 2 questions The extra board to add is not screwed or fixed anywhere ? Meaning it can move inside ? The exit video output cable through sharp metal border of the screen frame ? Safe ?
Could u open carplay, and shift it to R, does the Camara pop up automatically, or you need to trun off the car play first and you access to see the Camara when you going (R)/ REVERSE??
I see that you drilled thru the console in order to plug into the usb. If the plan is to connect your phone wirelessly, can this step be bypassed, or is it necessary for it to be plugged in via the center console usb?
I have the same question. Also For wireless - will sound still come through the 'iPod' connection or as part of the overall wireless connection. I would like to avoid drilling any holes (leased car) to the inside console.
This video is extremely helpful and can't wait till I get it installed this week but still dont trust myself to do it lol but after the installation is done, if I wanted to use wireless CarPlay, how would I go about doing so?
Can I take my car back to the dealer after installing this? Just got a 2015 Q50 3.7 Premium but I know when I put these after market parts on I will have to take them off before I take my car back, I don’t know if I can take it back to the dealer with that installed, that seems like a lot of work to put in much less take out and put the factory shit back
Unless you're having radio issues or get your center console ripped apart they won't know you have it and won't care trust me no one is gonna make a note on your customer profile that you have aftermarket electronics installed (source: was a service advisor for multiple years and have worked in dealerships since I was 18)
