I drive on this road at least 6 times a day, and I have for over 20 years! This building has always caught my attention due to the concrete fence pillars and the unmistakeable RAF vibe the place has. I have been inside 100's of RAF buildings up and down the country and this place has always fascinated me... But it is on my doorstep, is there really an old RAF building in the village where I live?
So today after I had taken some items to Doncaster Air Museum I popped a little notice on our village Facebook Group asking if anyone knew the history and what happened next is EXTRAORDINARY!!!!
The sites owner contacted me directly, they have only owned the building for approx 20 moths and NEXT WEEK the site is being converted into two residential dwellings!!! I asked for permission to film and take photographs in the hope that by sharing these incredible buildings someone will be able to help fill the gaps surrounding this properties rich history.
