I wrote a Pascal to P-compiler for the HP9845A in 1979. Small, fast, efficient and crash-proof.

Turbo Pascal was actually danish - and named Compas Pascal originally. Developed by Anders Hejlsberg

I didn't know that. To this day I program in Pascal and the compiler is maintained by a Danish team.

Anders went on to Microsoft becoming the language architect for C#. Absolutely loved Delphi and Turbo Pascal.

Back in the 1980's when I got my Apple II I decided to take a course in Pascal at a junior college. I had used Basic for the last five years writing scientific/mathematical programs as an engineer. I found Pascal to be a waste of time. I just continued using line numbers and merrily solving problems.
