@@ice2coolx they aren’t doing microtransactions of any kind, users can make maps and skins of whatever they like pretty much and the community can access all of that for free. Combine that with 25 official tracks every 3 months, quality of life updates, new content and more means that a subscription model makes a lot of sense. They didn’t want cosmetics to be their money maker, so they chose something different.

@@ice2coolx The devs are still updating the game (which just included releasing the game on several different consoles), they still create new content (new campaigns, new tracks for Royal, new tracks for World Tour, associated skins for these, etc), tend to the community, curate TotD/CotD, and PAY for the SERVERS used to play CotD/TotD, Royal, Ranked, World Tour, host leaderboards, etc. Could the community do all of this? Well, we'd certainly wouldn't have had a console release if it was purely up to the fans. And the rest comes with the uncertainty and unreliability of any gaming community projects of this kind. And navigating community servers would absolutely turn away a lot of current players and the vast majority of potential new players.

Starter Access would still have gotten you the campaign, ranked and royal skins.

I am pretty certain you can just set your country to anything you like. So the national skins are freely available if you can also live with their flag on the score board.

it isn’t a plug-in, it’s a setting. settings > HUD > misc > always display records. once you have club, it will let you watch and race against those ghosts

I did on PC back during COVID isolation, hosted remote game nights a couple of times that way. I see no reason it should change. But I haven't tested.

This is such a bummer. A lot of f2p titles on PlayStation don't require PS+ and it really hurts TM imo. It's just not worth it if you are not paying for PS+ anyways

What kinda playstation is that? It costs 60$ for a year and there's even a couple moments where you can get it in sale like black fridays for example then it's about 45$ for a year

I think 10 bucks for the standard access is underpriced, if you compare it to any other AAA Title, they are 60-70 bucks and most of them you only play for a year and their either with season passes or with micro transactions. So paying half of that for a game that you can put hundrets of hours in, doesnt sound that bad to me.

You have to also realize that it also gives you the ability to create your own online servers. Nadeo themselves hosts them and that costs money. It's definitely a fair price when you factor that in.

nah not really. club access is more for ppl who spent hundreds of hours into the game and want to get really serious into getting better at playing or mapping

And also the curation job that is map of the day selection. And also a new 25-map campaign every three months. And also unlimited access to play against opponents online using NADEO's servers. You subscribe because they provide a continuous service, I see no unreasonableness here.
