I’ve recently picked up a stump grinder showing 1245 hours on a 65hp, Blow by seems about the same as my 35 hp grinder with less than 200 hrs. I’m looking at a 65hp that’s on a concrete saw showing 150hr to put on my grinder should both Eng be basically the same other than moving this r that around for application ? Thanks for any advice
Yes should work great, the motor mounts mite be a different length but they can be interchangeable, and the crank take off mite be a different length but I doubt it, it will be fine
I'm happy you noticed that, I drill and tap a hole there to add a line with a ball valve to add air to lean out fuel when running on the bench to save gas lol, it will run very clean and twice as long on a gallon of fuel
I am restoring a Vermeer stump grinder. The 465 has been done for months. You are right, it is a PIG! I run mine a few times a month, and I cannot believe the fuel that burns. I have a second 465 to rebuild, where did you get your cylinders bored and honed?
That thing looks like it just came out of a crate. Did it have any hours on it prior to you getting it? I picked up a VH4D about 3 years ago. The guy had all the air shrouds chromed. The engine had a complete rebuild from the crank up, new pistons and all 15 years prior. It wasn't even started since the rebuild. He sold it to me for $350.00!! I took the heads off when I got it home to make sure he wasn't bs ing me. He wasn't .That one will be my show piece once I get it up and running.
Yes it was low hours but it was real ugly, the latter motors were painted black from the factory and it was the cheapest paint money could buy, I really want to see this cromed motor you speak of!
