As a South African in a country where African Spirituality is not just widely practiced but encouraged under the guise of the 'African Renaissance' I can attest to the water spirits being seen as the ultimate power in ancestral worship.. when you are said to be 'chosen' by a powerful water spirit, you don't have to go through the initiation that others have to go through which is a year of servitude to the 'teacher', they tell you they will train you themselves, which is where you find people who disappear into oceans or rivers for 6 months and come back out.

I love these videos. Really helping with my Christian life here in Ghana ❤ 🇬🇭. But most Americans have the wrong idea about Africans 😂😂. Some Africans find it offensive but personally I think it’s funny. More than 90% of households are either Christian or Muslim. Just a handful being African Traditional or belonging to other religions. To anyone reading this from America, Africans love you, stop saying we hate you. We as West Africans are even more hospitable to foreigners than to ourselves. We treat foreigners like royals.
