This is the brand new offering from Wise and it is finished to a "T" Excellent quality and functionality without breaking the bank Link to website: wisetimepiece.com Thanks for watching.. cheers
Thank you Pete for you terrific review. Certainly another strong offering by Wise. I absolutely like this piece as well as others they make. I will probably end up picking up one of their watches this year. Thank you again and cheers.
Wow, that’s a nice watch. Wise is playing at being a heavy-hitter with this, they’re proving how far they can push the quality envelope. When these guys finally do a four hand GMT, I’m all in. I love the dial with that rubber strap, so complementary. That 904L polishes up like platinum, or almost like tantalum (is it me or did it look kinda bluish?), just beautiful lustre. Peter, I agree fully, the polish on that steel is so gorgeous that it screams for a bracelet, regardless of how well the rubber strap works on it. I love what brands like Wise, Zelos, Boldr, and Phoibos are doing- SE Asia is on its way to being an epicenter of bad-ass, creative watch-making, and I love it.
Very cool watch and nice review. The case shape very much reminds me of the Oris 65. Fairly thin, but wears very thin. This is cheaper than the Oris, and has the nice benefit of a ceramic bezel and better lume. If it was offered with a decent bracelet I might be tempted to sell my O65 for one
Dude another awesome review. Another testament that you can own a high quality watch without spending a fortune... (yes I'm talking of the swatch group...).
Wow, very impressed with the whole package as a whole. Love those dials. I saw the blue one on the website and I think that's the one for me. I'm partial to 42mm cases and 22mm lugs, but this one looks great on the wrist and the strap doesn't look too thin. I'm also not a fan of the highly-polished look on a diver, but of course that's an easy fix. It's very tempting, might just get it before summer.
Very cool dial, very interesting. I think I would definitely be changing the angle of it to get it to show up and disappear sitting on my wrist. Thanks for the review!
Gorgeous dial, and I'm a sucker for a thin diver. I don't think I've ever seen a decorated miyota either! Counter-intuitively I think a dressy diver like this can get by with a stiffer bezel since you might be timing your oven at most.
Good review. Got the black/gilt dial version, without the dial pattern and a more sandy texture. Similar time keeping. No issues with the bezel, good grip. Really nice look, and genuine quality that lifts this above the entry level swiss... Kept on the leather for now. No less shiny than my 116610LV. Thanks for verifying my purchase.
I've taken a break from this channel although still subbed, and how I've missed that beautiful intro and that special feel Peter's videos makes me feel :-). Happy New Year from up North, Scandinavia!
Nice original take on some standard design elements, and a good mix of adventure (dial) and restraint. Good design of hands and case, and pretty much worth the asking price when compared to Seiko or the Swiss, though no bargain. "I can dance to it, I'll rate it as a 92".
Great video on a beautiful watch! Im loving everything about this one except that logo on the dial.. if only they would replace that with their signature ‘W’, just like the crown.
Will bave to pick up one of those snow like dial versions one day, looks amazing, also glad they are using this miyota movement, I so far prefer the feel of the automatic miyota movements I have over the seiko movements. The one direction winding is fun, and the seiko 4R36 at the very least has close to none feedback if handwind it, also managed to break my first so far only seiko movement
Happy New Year Peter! A beautiful looking watch for sure. I do like y bracelets so I agree with you on that point. No issue with the full polish either. I had a Squale 1521 with the fully polished case and I always though it looked really sharp. It seems to suit certain watches.
Hi Peter, what a great review!. As you say, this watch is a stunner. What a an amazing pattern on the dial. I do agree with your assessment of the negative. If you are using premium steel, you should be able to get this watch with a premium steel bracelet. Also, I am thinking the Myota movement should have been upgraded to a SW 200. Otherwise, it remiains in my view a non-luxury watch and many people would and should question the price that Wise wants.
It's design language is interesting, the paddle hour hand, and pencil minutes, and squarish markers are all nicely balanced. The dial is interesting in a good way to me.
Another Wow! From WISE really Pete I almost wish I missed this offering I was hoping not to add many more pieces to my collection in the new year love the ghost effect of the dial and their quality at this point goes without saying Now I'll just have to try not to visit their website Wish me luck with that Yea! right 👍
Thank you for including the fact that the bezel is tight. I appreciate the honesty in the otherwise glowing review. If they make a version with a more traditional dial and a Hitman quality bezel, I'd be interested.
@s.w.4409 Yes, I do. Additionally, I've bought a bracelet for it from Wise. Took some time to receive the bracelet. Watch is a good choice for someone who wants a slim, traditionally looking diver on budget. My only complaint is that the date is slightly offside. You can notice it only with one digit numbers. With numbers 10 and above, it is centred accurately. It is so insignificant that I stopped noticing it.
Really like the watch aesthetic overall, the dial is superb! Still can't get over the brand name though. Just reminds me of a food brand for some odd reason.
Hey Pete, great review. I could feel you’re admiration over this watch. I too was thinking it needed a bracelet right as you said it. Other than that what a great value watch. I wonder how much a nice beads of rice in matching aesthetics/material would have added as a option…? Seems every bit as good as an Oris/Rado to me. Love your style mate. Keep doing you.
Highly interesting offering! They have really gotten the details down, for example the chamfering on the markers - something I believe isn't seen all too often in microbrands. Also, lovely hour hand design, quite bold & unusual.
Beautiful watch and I really like the dial texture, it picks up the light nicely. It is very skin diver-ish in style but yet just a bit more refined. As a bracelet guy, I think the watch would look great on one but honestly I like the way it looks on a strap too.
Wow that is a stunning dive watch. Looks like a watch twice it's price. Also looks a bit like a slimmed down version of one of my favourite watches, the Seiko MM200 (first version) I'm in love with this lol. Excellent review and video footage as always Peter! I personally love the fully polished case. Would be nice to have at least one blingy dive watch in the collection. I almost bought the Squale Onda for my first bling dive watch last week. Hmm, now I've got something to think about lol. This would definitely be the safer option. Happy New Year BTW!`
Thailand maintains a good reputation and quality on watches they produce and export to other countries. Basically it's a production hub of good Japanese Brands and Miyota Movement are also used in some Timex Automatic Watches in India. Miyota Mechanism and Movement is World Standard.
Looks good, but I agree on one of your dislikes, these should have either a brushed or a satin finish. High polish for me should be limited to dress watches, or maybe on a beveled edge at most.
Falling into the Oris diver 65 category, the movement looks better as well as the lume. Would I flip my own 65 for this Wise? - No Would I had purchase this Wise instead of my 65 back in time? - Probably yes
I quite like that watch, if I didn't already have a CW C65, and a Vaer D5 in my collection I'd be tempted to consider picking one up. I'm a bit of a sucker for vintage inspired divers.
I love to see a micro brand with all the right specs and with such a great eye for details, and firmly in that $5-600 range. It looks beautifully constructed and has all the right internals. Very solid value proposition. Now why can't the big names give us the same? I used to put down microbrands all the time, especially when the conversation involved a well known brand or model. Now my collection of microbrands has grown to the point where they're half of my collection, and I love finding new and exciting watches rather than just dealing with Omega's overpriced rehash of the seamster for the 50th year in a row. "But this time the waves face left! Add $4000!" Anyway, bravo for highlighting these great micros.
@@garyboyle695 I appreciate the question and I'm happy to answer it. First, please allow me to be clear and to agree with you that Rolex does, in fact, do this as well. Both watchmakers do it, and I understand that they have a market for a specific product (and a lucrative one at that) and they have no incentive whatsoever to truly innovate or provide something exceptionally different, just as they have no incentive whatsoever to provide a $1000 watch when they can sell every instance of what they've been making for fifty plus years at the price they ask. I could very well have chosen Rolex as my example to make my point. I chose Omega as my example because Omega didn't used to be what they've become. Omega innovated often and were genuinely attainable high quality pieces for a very long time, and have (in my very humble opinion) lost their way. Now all you hear about is the "new" speed/sea and how much better it is and an inflated price along with exclusivity and how unattainable it seems to be. Then you look at the piece itself and it's basically much of the same. But it's not just Rolex and Omega. It's a lot of the major brands. And that's ok! If it works and it sells and there's demand then by all means continue to do the thing that makes the profit. I'm not faulting them for it. My point was (and still is) that I very much appreciate these microbrands that are actually innovative yet bring all the specs and are willing to take some risks. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but you don't see that in many of the luxury brands until you get well into the ultra-high horology brands where they're just doing million dollar exercises in whether something can be done. This is neat to look and probably important on a very high/broad level but mostly irrelevant to those of us closer to the ground. So yeah, I picked Omega because (to me, at least) they represent my point. But you're correct in pointing out that there were plenty of other luxury brands culpable of the same. Hopefully this provided a satisfactory answer! 🤓
@@JoseSierradeLeste You make many valid points and I agree with a lot of them. Unfortunately when it comes to Rolex they seem to get a free pass and I was just wondering if your comment were based on a Rolex bias, which doesn't look like the case. Thanks for the reply.
@@JoseSierradeLeste I think you have a few fair points, although I want to ask you something: do you really think watch industry is inovative nowadays? I, for one, don't believe this. Companies do change some details in their designs, but overall, there isn't any innovation. The watch presented in this video, if my opinion, brings nothing new on the table and the same can be said about most other watches from different companies.
I think they left out the AR coating on the lens, that does make a difference when you are looking at the time in sunny weather or bright indoor light.
I'm glad I'm left-handed as it looks as though the larger crowns these days would dig into your hand. In fact the one left-handed watch that I do have does dig into my hand when I go to use my hand for leverage to stand up or whatever. I would say these watches are just a little bit overpriced for what they are. But they do come with extra bands and they have a slim profile.
I guess because its a varient of the orignal ADAMASCUS which is a dress watch it remained polished but seems to be a cross bread of the Hitman and Adamascus. Not big fan of the shape of hand set. But looking forward to receiving my Meteorite Adamascus. And have a Thai peice in my collection
Surprised theres a market for high end brands when you can have this for 599, and others also, i recently saw the Helm Miyako wow, micro brands are really upping their game
Ordered mine this week. First microbrand purchase, I can’t wait! Btw. Wise told me they are working on a stainless steel bracelet for the adamascus series. Might be interesting to see what they come up with.
@@guidine7 Very satisfied. I enjoy the materials, which are decent, but also the design. Had to get used to the behaviour of an automatic watch, but once i get accustomed, it’s smooth sailing. Also the fact that it’s 200m and sapphire glass gives me confidence to wear it everyday. Now hopefully they’ll release a bracelet in the same steel…i’ll buy it in a second 😅
Peter, I ordered one of these, thanks to this video. I received mine, and it’s a Fantastic Stunner! Getting lots of wrist time, and it stands out, people ask me where I got this beautiful watch, and the rest is history. The pattern on the dial to me , if you turn the watch sideways, looks like a bunch of Ws hooked together, standing for Wise watches, in my humble opinion. It really was a wise choice, thank you Peter. Cheers!😃😃👍👍
@@PeterKotsa absolutely! I really do Love this watch! Now alls I have to do is buy the SS. Bracelet. I appreciate you Peter, and thanks a million for your input. Have an Awesome day sir!
Love the dimensions, specially the thickness. Love the case shape. But I don’t like the dial. And I don’t like the it’s all polished. Should be mostly brushed. Great video as always though!! Your videos are so good man!!
Unfortunately I have Wise Adamascus AD8 AD830A and mainly purchased watch after watching this blog - I wore watch in 2m of water at Beach and crown failed (even though screwed all way down). It now has condensation on dial and mechanism has suffered moisture damage. I emailed Wise support to inform them of issue and they requested an image of crown to establish if anything was wrong. I told them it wil require a pressure test, however they recommended this wasn't require as all watches go through stringent cross checks before leaving factory. I'm know spending good money after bad money to rectify watch. Steer clear of Wise Time Piece watches as they all all glitzy with no substances!
Thanks Pete for a wonderful review. I have never heard of this brand before but now found myself in their website trying to secure this watch. My wife complains I have too many watches already but hey, what’s one more to my collection? Very dangerous to watch your reviews.
Hi, I'm SO glad to see that you have both the hitman and the adamasus. Would be immensely grateful if you can check if the bracelet from the hitman fits on the adamascus. I adore the adamascus but a bracelet on a dive watch is also a must for me, they sell the hitman bracelets by themselves on their site.
