At 8:00 AM June 12, 2009, after WISH-TV's nearly 55 years and WNDY's 22 years of analog broadcasting on channel 8 and 23, WISH-TV and WNDY shut off its analog signal as of 12:00 AM June 13, 2009.
The analog TV farewell of Indy's long-time then-CBS affiliate and MyNetwork TV affiliate, which celebrated its 55th anniversary this year, and 25th anniversary in 2012, respectively. The clip begins with a 24 Hour News 8 Newsbreak with Joy Dumandon and Randy Ollis at 7:55 am EDT.
Following several commercials do not have a sign-off announcement nor a SSB video. After about a second of "black screen" (possibly pre-recorded and inserted into the video), there'a a minute or so of the WISH-TV-produced nightlight service, which ran continuously for about 16 hours.
This clip was recorded "over the air" using an outdoor antenna (for WISH) and rabbit ears (for WNDY) and a VCR. A not-so-good analog sign-off clip, but nowhere near as good as that of WFYI nor as great as WRTV and WTHR's.
WNDY's previous channel 23 allocation went to the digital signal for WIPB Muncie.
I submitted this to the JawToons web site (for those who want to see the SD version)
