He gave me a switch once so I was surprised he could give me something like that, until I went home and realized it was a wall placed item. It was a light switch..
First time gave me a Street Organ. Then I picked something new for the second time and got a Blue Honeycomb Wall Third was a Den chair (expensive option) Yeah I've been lucky so far
The only time I've seen wisp so far I shot down a balloon while finding his spirits and then when I asked him for something expensive he gave me the same damn item I literally just got from the balloon 😂
This has happened to me before and it sucks. I think if you just step inside a building it forces them to respawn if they’re trapped or not spawning for some reason
I usually go in and out of buildings and it’s somewhere stupid in the corner of my island hiding. After I talk to a villager and leave their home, it’s a little more present.
I don't even use the stuff from Celeste because I don't know how to make it fit with my island theme but I still like having Celeste on my island more then having wisp... At least I can invite people over to my island when Celeste is there but Wisp-
Honestly, seeing Wisp makes me feel incredibly guilty. By your second time meeting him, you are going to intentionally talk to him to make him scared and cause his spirit to go flying off, so that you can get more clothes/furniture from him. To me, that feels kinda messed up. It would be like if a car mechanic came to your house and damaged your car, so that you could pay them money to fix it. Poor Wisp. He deserves better.
*Me:* Asks for an expensive flooring. *Wisp:* Gives me frickin’ *Common Flooring.* (This actually happened with me.) *Edit:* This was my first ever interaction with Wisp, I absolutely hate him now and I ignore him.
I’ve heard (and tested) that if you don’t find a spirit piece for a while, and you stay in the same general area, they will come to you. I haven’t rigorously tested this but maybe try it out if you’re tired of running around.
My thoughts on how the wisp pieces spawn around the island. My guess is that after a certain amount of time, a wisp piece will spawn within your view diastance or in the direction you are walking. This would explain finding one after retracing your steps. So as long as you are moving around the island, eventually (after seemingly not much time) one will pop into view. At least, thats from my experience in the game. But once again, great video Kora! 😄
Fun fact: if you use the "Haunt" reaction in front of him, he WILL react - by freaking out and bursting into pieces like he does when you talk to him! I didn't know until I saw someone else do it, but hey! :D
I can confirm that you don’t need a ladder to complete the Wisp mission (at least early on in the game). He first came when I had only been playing the game for a few days (post-pole vault, pre-ladder) and I was able to get to all the spirit pieces.
2:45 sadly it’s not true, before i got my pole vault i saw wisp staring at me from across my river and i was really sad bc i wanted to greet him but i couldn’t.
Comes to my island...gets scared when I talk to him when I’m OBVIOUSLY THERE. Makes me have to find his stupid spirits. And gives me stupid furniture that I’ll never use
2:45 On my first day playing Animal Crossing which was launch day, I saw Wisp on my island and was unable to complete the quest, because I did not have the tools required to reach him. :(
I wonder what he says instead of “something new” if someone completes the near impossible task of obtaining every item and variant in either clothing or furniture.
I have a theory about why Wisp doesn't seem to recognize you before you interact with him... Because spirits and humans live on a different dimension/plane and wisp can only see you after you decide to touch him, someone on the other plane. Would also explain why he is so surprised every time he saw you, because he couldn't see you before you touched him!
I always choose “something new” to grow my catalog but last time I accidentally chose “something expensive.” I was expecting something that could be bought for over 30,000 bells but I received a cat tower 😂 at least it was a color I didn’t have so my catalog grew at least
I've had wisp show up multiple times a week on my island. I actually like him a lot. My favorite is running in plain sight of him back and forth until speaking to him and THEN spooking him. He's a dumb dumb, I like it

One time I got a throwback car bed from the expensive option, which was the one and only time that worked. Last time i chose the expensive option, I got a wall that legitimately looked like it belonged in a public toilet. Don’t recommended
Wisp has never shown up on my island, and trust me I play everyday at night. Can someone please help me? 😣 i feel like I did something wrong to cause a bug..... please help.
The first 4 parts are super easy but the last one is always invisible because I look at every spot on my island and I see nothing and I can even rotate the camera left or right

Aw, I love Wisp! He turns up maybe a couple of nights a week on my island. The first time I met him he gave me some pretty bomb orange wallpaper that I still have in my living room.
I actually got Wisp twice last week, Sunday and Tuesday. I didn't know it was possible, either. But when I compared the number of Wisp sightings in the achievement with the number of weeks since the game released (minus one for the prologue week), it actually averaged out to 1.12 Wisps per week. So I guess he's been showing up pretty often and I just didn't realize it!
Once when I was first starting out (before you get the vaulting pole) I was walking by my river, and I saw wisp on the other side Of the river and I didn’t know who he was back then and I couldn’t even get to him so that was the only time I’ve ever seen wisp and I couldn’t even get to him...
I’ll have you know that the fishing attire I gave to my villager Nan, and it’s the most adorable thing she wears. It turns into a dress and it looks like a skater dress 😊😂
I saw Wisp the first night I was running around exploring my island with the vaulting pole and saw him at the exact same spot the next night, making me think he was this cool little ghost they put there so you'd always have something to do after closing hours. Then I didn't see him for weeks and realised I'd just gotten really lucky.
From my experience, Wisp only spawns in secluded areas that can't be reached by foot. I first met Wisp on the right side of my island which could only be reached by hopping or pole-vaulting across the river at the time. I've met Wisp many times after this and I always find him on elevated areas that can only be accessed with a ladder. I've destroyed most of my cliffs leaving only a few elevated areas left and he STILL only spawns on those. I imagine that Wisp will just spawn anywhere if there are none of these "unreachable" areas left on your island. Of course, these are just my experiences, for all I know there are people who have found Wisp in middle of the plaza, maybe he does spawn in completely random places and I just happen to only find him on small elevated areas purely by chance.
Also, when you first find him, you can hit him with the bug net and it will spook him the same way. You can also try "catching" him while he is small and he will comment on how he isn't one of the spirit pieces.
I like to imagine he’s so scared he shits himself in very, very, very rapid succession.. POW POW POW POW POW... That said, I like the task as it means going round just about everywhere, and so combines with having a final “goodnight” to all the villagers.
I usually try to ask for "something new" but ever since I got a duplicate item, I don't think it matters much what you ask for. Wisp doesn't care what you want. He just seems to give whatever garbage he has with him... not the best reward when I have to scour my island for the fragments of his soul.
Yes, Whisp is just like Celeste. He may appear more than once a week. He is the special visitor that I find more frequently in my island. I never ask for an expensive item because there's a chance to get items you already have. Now, about expensive itens, the most expensive item I got with him was an antique vanity that costs 31.000 bells.
When I first started, (without a vaulting pole and/or ladder), I saw wisp. First time I completed the mission, asked for something expensive and got a tv.
Wisp showed up on my island the first night i started to play animal crossing, but HE WAS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RIVER and I DIDNT HAVE A VAULTING POLE RECIPE, so I COULD ONLY WATCH IN AGONY as MORNING ARRIVES
I saw Wisp just as I was about to go fishing and I was like "I bet they'll sell for a ton, hehe". So I snuck up behind Wisp with my net and hit him with it and then the dialogue began-
I have played EVERY DAY since I got it, and I have never seen whisp, I have completed the Kk concert, but still. No. Whisp! Idk why :( do u have any advice that might help him come!? Xx 💖
