You can find Witcher Viper school swords at the very beginning of this game. 😎 Later in Velen I recommend switching to Witcher School of Gryffin, or Cat (Bear and Wolf can be collected and crafted on levels 20+ so it's a mid game Witcher Armor).

ESO i'm on my second playthrough of Witcher 3 carried over my level 50 character full vampire armour set but i also have the Grandmaster Feline silver sword ...So it's hard to find a replacement unfortunately . Also you can find silver swords in White Orchard .

Usually when you come across any sword in a chest, it's power lvl is generated at random so you can basically pick up either a powerful one or a slightly less one. Early on, I liked to save the game right before opening the chest and seeing what I got. If it was too low of power then I reloaded the game. It might take a few tries but you can actually get the full potential of the sword if you do what I did. Just a fun fact.

Thank you so much for this. Originally the moonsword I found only required level 2 and not level 8 like in the video. I was quite disappointed, my Deithwen level 3 silver sword was still more powerful so I came to the comments to see what was going on. Thanx to your tip, I was able to get a level 6. I made a separate save file after finding level 6 and kept trying for half an hour but never got one more powerful. Better than a level 2 for sure!

What Joey king said. Also Tamerian armor is best starter Armor, Then Nilfgaurdian Armor. Until you get Wolven gear.

@Sahage Boparai it's not really worth using the Materials tbh, Nilfgaurdian armor has very close base stats... And you can just strait up buy the Nilfgaurdian armor from Crows Perch. If you really want witcher gear though, I would go for feline, for best dmg output... Or Ursine for extra protection. But pure stat wise, Wolven is the best until you get to Hearts of Stone.

@@Ecliptor. how's that leveling thing work? I finished every side quest in White Orchid, nest, looting plus got the viper set.... All that before stepping a foot inside the tavern for the first time... And when I got this sword it's stats are nothing like on the video, Viper is just better... Do I need to focus on more main quests not just side quests before hunting for any type of swords like this one?

@@SamuelPerezCentral Yeah basically all loot is garbage, except the witcher gear you craft. Around those very early levels, you MAY get a good roll on a relic item but that's about it. The exception are the assassin gloves, they are good for the whole playthrough because of that crit chance. What I did was turn on enemy scaling as well, because you overlevel so much, it's insane.

For anyone wondering what the best endgame sword is it's Aerondight from the Blood and Wine DLC, the sword is obtained in Toussaint by completing a quest that requires you to prove yourself worthy. The sword drops at your level upon completion of the quest, and has a unique ability that increases it's damage by 10% every time you hit an without killing it. This ability increases to a maximum of +100% damage and at that point it also gains 100% critical hit chance. Killing an enemy while the sword is at full power resets the counter and *permanently increases base damage* this ability has a maximum of 10, and every time you level up this abilities maximum also increases by 10 making this sword scale with you forever. Aerondight has absolutely no equal when it comes to damage output especially against bosses where the swords ability truly shines

@@majinboo6377 there is no recharge delay of any kind, if you get a kill at max you can immediately start building up again, and by that point everything else you've been fighting should be weak enough that it'll die in a couple uncharged hits. Aerondight is one of the easiest swords to build around and remains one of the best weapons in your inventory for as long as you play that save file. Also once you get to blades at the level of Aerondight you're doing so much damage even with a defensive build like Grandmaster Ursine/Undvik and resistance decoctions, that any difference is going to be marginal. And you're saying it's only good for newbies, on a video directed towards newbies.

@@Delirious7667 in terms of raw power yes, aerondight is the best and its easy to obtain, thats why its for newbie, but not for crit builds. Theres a silver sword with 15 % crit rates and 100% crit damage.

Mako GamingLYFE no aerondight is the best if you have a good balance between armor and speed and it is the only one that can level up with you so if you are not shit in the game with the severence rune (quicker wide hits ) it is easier to defeat bosses and also with the ability whirl and undying ability and second life mutation combined with wolf armor which basically boosts potions and signs you are unstoppable in the game

Great tip, though I tend towards the Viper blade up until lvl 11 ( and exchange it with the griffin sword),because of the xp bonus. Leveling is quite slow, especially in the early stages, so I'll take the 20% xp bonus over any combat enhancement stat. Oh, if you do go for this one another tip is that if you are on the bloody baron questline (the luberkin-story) a part of it ends up right by this location, so you can just pick it up after ;)

Great tip. There is a relic steel sword ( Tir Tochair Blade ) you can find in another chest under water going straight south from the moonblade chest just off this fin of the mainland. It'll be east of the island with the large tone circle.

Thanks I just got to this area and got smoked a few hours ago. I thought I was in the wrong area at first but not Velen is after white orchard. I m ok now following story line and chugging along . I like it now and a lot of the alchemy and potions have been crafted as I get the ingredients . Lvl 4 or 5 , 3 slots open , still new but I was confused af for a whole day , now is getting better . Plenty of good guides and tips vids helped a lot , a few of yours . Thanks bro!

Today in March 20 th 2020 it came with 117-143 damage , +1 yrden sign intensity, +10 crit hit Gmail bonus, +1 crit hit chance , +1 chance to freeze.. thanks for the vid ! It’s slightly better than my old sword . Wish I had this at level 3 !

@@couchpotater2541 you should have gone there a bit later, this guy is lvl 12 in this video, but one youtuber recommended to go between lvl 6-8 and I am going to get mine as I am lvl 11, but I really would recommend 6-8, since griffin gear can be worn at lvl 11. I am going to use griffin and ursine gear till the end I believe, at least as this is my first (perhaps more will come) playthrough.

Hey! ESO I saw this video and decided to buy and play the game! I came across a relic sword at level 3 that was a steel sword and I have the location....under the eternal fire chapel there's an island and there's a hidden treasure there that has it , another way to look at it is the islands to the north east of Hindhold. There's a stronger enemy guarding it but I just stole it and ran away...Now I have 2 relic swords at level 3 thought you might wanna make a video on the sword location

I'm playing Witcher 3 now and this helps and I saw someone ask if you can kill drowners underwater and the answer is yes you can only go fight them with the crossbow and aim and shoot but keep some distance if there are multiple in the water around you it takes at least 1-2 shots and hopefully just one if lucky on certain levels

Man! I know I'm five years late but thank you much, my silver sword was insane ( 126 damage to like 154 or something ) and it disappeard so I had no silver sword. I got it from a shop using a stone that got stuff two levels down and then I bought it! Sorry this is real long, but what I'm trying to say is, THANK YOU

The dmg is random so before you get the sword, save the game. If the dmg is not good enough you can reload and try again. It took me 6 or 7 attempts to get one that was 169-207 dmg. 😊

So, I found the diagrams for the Viper School Witcher Swords before leaving White Orchard and those Level 2 swords have carried me through level 6. The level 2 Viper Silver Sword had better stats than the level 3 Moonblade, never found a chance to use it, and then I found a Level 5 Aerondite with 3 sockets and better base Stats than the Viper Silver Sword, which was better than everything else until the Aerondite.

Im on level 9 and obtained the moonblade but after checking my inventory I also found the Disglair silver sword as well.Evidently While doing the mice quest in the tower I snagged the diagram for it. Found something interesting in witcher 3 regarding the aerondight sword, there is a quest in novigrad where you have to hunt a Succubus, if you chose not to kill her, you get the aerondight sword, its not the same strength as the blood and wine dlc but found it funny thats its there, without the whole lady of the lake cutscene
