Just finished :) I used a bulky yarn so it turned out larger than I expected but I added a braided cord to tighten it! It's soooooo cute, it's going to be my winter hat

Great video!! Just did a toddler version for my 2 year old and 48 stitches around did it for her head!! Just incase anyone else is curious. I didn't follow the pattern exactly.. Started doing 4 increases when you started 3's as I didn't want the top super tall... Lol Thanks again!!

Very cute. I really enjoyed your teaching style. Very layed back and easy going. You are a great teacher. Happy Halloween. Don't believe all the hype about Xmas in America though. A lot of us are poor and it is an a painful insult that it has become so materialistic, especially if you have children and buy into the constant hype to buy, buy, buy. Left off a bit of the "stem" at top, and the brim, used bright yellow, pumpkin, & white, all Super Saver colors, and wa-la!! Candy corn hat! Thanks Claire!

Just finished mine started it last night. Wishing the brim was larger without it having to be floppy, but the nature of yarn lol. First project I have done with a pattern.

I have a quick question about the pattern. After your done the baby size you mention sc and sl st. Does this go all the way around and then start the increases for the brim?

Hello. TO tell you the truth i am not too sure, if your tension is tight i guess it will, but if your tension is loose then maybe not. Might be a bit of trial and error

How do you go from 4 increases to 6? Where is 5?

It's been six years but... My understanding is that doing 5 would make the hat more of a circle than a triangle.

I should also mention I used a 5mm or size H/8 hook and the yarn I used is a thinner size 4 bulk, so I used 2 strands together. It was a lb. bag I got on sale and it says unknown fibre so I can't even say what it is.... Lol

nice piece, when I made my wizards hat I used four stitch markers and did an increase every 3/4 of a round and got to 16.5 inches tall then used a post stitch to turn out for the brim, have cycled to town and back a couple of times and chucked it about/sat on it a fue times and it still stands prety well :)
