During the cold darkness of my 30s this song gave me peace. I am no 66 and can see how much fucking pain I was in . Without the crutch of boose or drugd
The Edge!!! Just lays down haunting guitar parts. Totally awesome. Completely unique. Suuuuustainnnnnn forever....... infinite sustai. This is a song you want to go on forever
What a rare and beautiful version, of their best song. 12,000 views… part of me wants to say “deserves more”, part of me is glad there are only so many of us that have been graced with this version. How raw and powerful his voice was here. How tight the arrangement was. How young they were. Miss you ❤
I don't think this has been available on RU-vid for that long, probably why its views aren't that high. I know it says it was uploaded 13 years ago but I remember looking for this particular concert and not finding much. It might have been taken down for a period.
This isn't the official Vevo Channel or the official U2 Channel so it's not going to have a high number of views, although it's up to 62,105 now it's higher on the official Channels apart from some re-releases of older tracks and yes this track has been on this Channel for 14 years that's why it says so next to the views, although if someone doesn't have an explanation of why the views are so low then they just make things up rather than admit that they don't know, I had only just been recommended this Channel while watching an official Vevo version of Vienna by Ultravox from the 1980's, the next one up is U2 Sunday Bloody Sunday on the official Live Aid Channel ..🤷🏻♂️
@@kevnwarriner8819 You talking to me? You can speak directly, you don't have to be a passive aggressive little soyboy... I didn't "make things up." I specifically searched songs from this concert and couldn't find anything for a period, even though I had before... So if they weren't temporarily removed, they were definitely suppressed by the algo for whatever reason. So stfu.
Never seen this before until this moment...wow, fantastic! Love from England to everyone who appreciates this fabulous band and this greatest of songs! 🙂
I'm the opposite LOL. I lost my wife April 2022 and U2, particularly Beautiful Day, got me through. Listened to it probably a thousand times that year.
Hang in there lost no my x married someone else I got to live with it he eats dinners with my children pain sure but Iam. Strong Iam weak but Iam alive live on folks with or with out pain it will all be ok , no Iam not baptised , Iam a free highlander I talk to the the one and only free spirit it’s a Scottish thing

Thanks for this moment.
When Edge comes in with that guitar (1:50) - that was my favourite thing in the world at the time. In fact, it probably contributed to this damn tinnitus
was in LA in 1987 on my way to SLO and stopped and saw them shot the video from the roof top. Ever since then..... the greatest band I've ever seen....cept the EAGLES in TAMPA stmd. july 4 1976 yeah I'm old!
Reminds of my college days at DUMZVILLE. When alternative songs is all you can hear every friday night kahit aling bar sa DUMA. Di mawala sa akong list na tukaron ni nga song every time naa koy gig before. Those were the days😊nakakamiss ang DUMAGUETE
@@ruffxm I saw the St Patrick’s Day concert in 1992 during the early indoor leg of the ZooTV tour in the old Boston Garden. Loudest concert I’ve ever been to, the crowd was so loud we couldn’t hear Edge during the B Stage set, but despite 1,000s of drunken fans on St Pattys Day, in Boston no less, no tear gas no crime during the concert. I watched videos of their Vegas Sphere concerts and the crowd was so different from the 1992 ZooTV crowds 🙄
Insane to think that they hadn’t even started the second US leg of the tour here…. they weren’t quite global sensations here but they were blowing up every day!!! They were like a tidal wave here, building and building with every show!!!
I remember my brother telling me about U2 on the old grey whistle test and seeing & hearing it myself “ tearing down those dollar bills billls” magical
La mejor canción de U2 y su mejor versión con el estribillo final de joy division una fuerza vocal y musical inalcanzable...me sigue emocionando tras más de 35 años es la canción de mi vida y esta su mejor interpretacion❤❤❤❤
Yes Indeed 💯 they were on 🔥 & the World 🌎 was theirs, the Joshua Tree Tour was one if the Most Successful Tours in my Opinion in Music History. I saw them twice in Chicago & Once in LA & they had to come back to the 🇺🇸 & hit the Cities they missed the first time around 🎶 🎵 💙👏🤟🤘😁
J'y étais. Il faisait super chaud. C'était en juillet, et si je me souviens bien, la première partie était Paul Young, et les Pogues. J'allais sur mes 22 ans
His mood here reminds me of the RTE appearance when they sung Springhill Mining Disaster. The biting rage in his eyes that night too. These are the moments when you know this ain't no ordinary rock singer and it ain't no ordinary band. The fury wasn't an act. He had the rage and you wanted to experience it in his performances. Age has calmed it, maybe his health wouldn't even tolerate it now.
@@ObamaFromKenya You are right, he does sometimes go for a melodic talking version of his singing. For me it is definitely fun to watch out for moments where the (rage) full energy still rears it's head :D. I think it is normal to slow down with age of course as these song are VERY hard to sing energy wise and he deserves a little respite (don't know if that is the right word), cause boy did he gave it his all for so long at this point.
" I was strolling down past Paris way, I walked through the streets in the light of the day. I knew that someone had arrived, when I saw your eyes. When I see you. When I hope that it was good, As it was good for me, As it was good for you, Then it was good for me . "
