Sharing my excitement over the surprises that come from painting in this week's art video. The unexpected colour combinations and shapes are joyous ! #art #myart #youneverknow #unexpected
It was inspiring, as usual! I have just entered my first art show, and I can honestly say your attitude to art has given me the confidence to do it. Thank you.
I so admire your dedication and commitment. Watching you continue to experiment and push things forward is incredibly inspiring. The "just keep going..." t-shirt captures how you approach your craft perfectly. With love from Canada! ❤❤❤
Good morning Gaynor, nice to see you here for breakfast, a great start to the day. Love anything to do with the sea, the cliffs are coming along. Cornwall is a lovely and inspirational place to be. Today here on the Argyll west coast its 50shades of grey😅 Those greens are gorgeous. Looking forward to see what happens with cabin changes. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, which are so often the thoughts of us all......Alioban 🐕❤
Hello Alioban, Rainbows here today ! Sunshine with SO much rain; oh good I thought, my new planting will enjoy a drink - but now I've got visions of them floating away !!!! Have a wonderful week XXX
Thank you Gaynor for another wonderful start to a Thursday which I always look forward to. Love the colours and joyful sense of play that you inspire me with which carries through into my own work leaves me feeling happy. “Just keep going” is such a good phrase for everyone.
Morning Gaynor, you never fail to amaze and inspire me!The Cornwall paintings are wonderful..you have a lovely set on the go,you have the gift of just churning them out like some kind of vending machine…so the keep going t shirt is very apt for you lol!!Love your techniques using the stick and especially the pressing down of paint onto the canvas..I would never have thought of doing that,it’s a really good idea to have more than one painting going at once, you are so right,it takes the pressure off!You remind me of myself, finding things when having a clear up..oh well, you can never have too much paint!😁Can’t wait to see the cabin development!!Have a lovely week in all you do!❤
Don’t worry about your titanium tubes! I used to paint in the dining room, I was ill and confused, didn’t have a storage system for my painting. I had the loft converted into a studio and when I moved up there I found bags and bags of paint! Four years later I am still working away at the stockpile. Just so embarrassing. Best r
So good to see you and your wonderful artwork, Gaynor! This ocean green is my alltime favourite colour. It"s a fresh colour but at the same time it's kind of mystical (if that makes any sense). Looking forward to your next video. 🤗 Have a nice week! Mara 🎨
Ahh Gaynor, you have captured the west of Cornwall so well. The colour and the feeling and sense of space. I live very close to where you’ve taken your photos and drive that tiny road by the sea often. That green lives in my heart also, such a beautiful colour. Mizzle here today, all the greys and blowy but I love it. Love to you and all you inspire.
Hello Michelle, You have absolutely made my day with your lovely comment! We have had a downpour all day !!! Have a wonderful week in beautiful Cornwall XXXX
You just make my day. I love waking up and watching any video that pops up on RU-vid. We are so similar in so many ways I lose my earings all the time and a million other ways we are similar. Please be well and keep on painting.
I am in awe of your creative energy - your Cornish paintings are just beautiful. I like the wall you use behind you by the window/doors where you put up a single piece of work before deciding whether it is finished or not and I now, to myself, refer to it as the 'thinking wall'!
Great to see you on top form and your channel keeps growing which is testament to your fab personality. Love the small squares and the big sea pic you've re-visited. Great news re. last week we're chuffed xxx
Betty Franks, Kim Smith , Laura Horn, Suzanne Redman... creative folks like U.😊 more home stuff... like 2 C U in the kitchen, in the green house. More plz. Ann, Florida fan
A new addition to the cabin?!?!…..…can”t wait to see what you get up to in a bigger brighter space. Thanks for brightening our week. Love the T-shirt, I think we should all get one.
These paintings of Cornwall are really looking lovely. I, too, love the greenish blue colour of that 8 x 8" one that you liked the colour of. It is pretty much perfect just the way it is. How exciting that Cabin 1 is going to get a facelift! Bigger "eyes" for more light will be lovely. Almost every artist wants more space for all their stuff! I'm no exception, and yet my entire cabin (which I live in) is almost all art studio! I have a chair and a small table to sit at, and the rest of the living area is art studio. LOL. I am getting better at tidying up after myself every few days at least, but as I move things around I forget things I had too. But finding old art supplies is just as much fun (well, almost!) as buying new ones! Cheaper, though. LOL.
I agree with you, as soon as you spread that unique blue green atop the 8x8” abstract, I got that feeling of oooooooo and aaaahhhh!! I love this series!! And excited about your remodel! Thank you!!
Wow Gaynor. You are in the flow this week. Wonderful inspiration with the build up of layers....especially "the wall". I can imagine this painting on a huge canvas. Such a masdive wall, and you have managed to capture the feeling of it's expansiveness! I love it!!!❤😊
Gaynor can never wait until Thursday to see what you’re doing next. Wish you would make your segments at least 40 minutes, can’t get enough of you. About lightening up the cabin. Have you considered skylights? They give the most non glare light. Even the small one in my kitchen knights it up like the outdoors. Also it would save your wall space for hanging your things. Cheaper than all the doors and windows you were talking about and probably less work to install.
Gaynor, you always inspire me to be more productive, and I have picked up from you to work on more than one piece at a time. Wow! My favorite greens are those in those last little canvasses you worked on. Such warm and happy colors. I'm loving your Cornwall wall, and can't wait to see them framed. Much love, Molly xxx
I just happened on your videos recently! I love your authenticity, your honesty, your experimentation, your openness, your consistent practice, your sharing of your processes, materials and inspiration! You have such a unique approach to your work. Thanks so much for your informative and caring content. It's so good you have a supportive husband who assists with all your framing needs. Regarding your cradle panels, do you paint the sides or put them in a frame? I'm originally from Jamaica and I live in Grorgia USA. That's how far your channel impacts emerging artists.
Thanks for the video Gaynor. I have an old cream linen jacket which I haven't worn for ages and was thinking of getting rid of it - I might just dye it now!
Hi Gaynor, you might be surprised to know how much inspiration I gain from you. Im a quilter and i love your color sense and experimentation with color and value. Im moving from traditional patterns to improvisational piecing so its all about capturing a feeling. You do that so well in your paintings and im trying to do that with fabric. You are such a joy!!! I really enjoyed watching you add texture in various ways today. Thanks!
I love the progress you’ve made on these paintings. Love the little 8 x 8’s as well as the larger ones. I especially love how the one with the white cliffs turned out. I’ve got five 8 x 8’s I haven’t worked on yet. I may need to start working with them soon. I haven’t been working with acrylics much these past couple of months. Time to get back to them. Thanks. 💖
hello Gaynor, gosh, how i understand the anxiety that pops on the scene . . . a subtle, gnawing pain (in my brain and heart) . . . and yes! 'just keep going' is the remedy! oh, how i appreciate your raw, brave process, especially fact that nothing could possibly be replicated -- ever! brilliantly -- yours! thank you for every bit of sharing. ~ Deborah
What great mark making tools and examples. I love using sticks too! The plans for Cabin One sound really great! Love the small landscapes, and the colors too. Thursdays are always such a treat. Wishing you a great week ahead and sending hugs. xxoo
Alright, that's that I have to try a landscape painting.😂 You make it look easy and you have a freedom about your process that I want so much to have! Reading your comments and seeing how you make people feel is just amazing! Have an awesome week! Your friend across the pond❤
Good morning, Gaynor! I love your Hayle Beach painting! That is indeed exciting news about re-doing cabin one and bringing in more light. I'm as anxious as you are to see it happen!
Beautiful paintings, loved the sagey blue green, I was thinking purple would look good with it ! So pleased to hear you are healing well and getting more energy 🕯🕯🕯❤
Hi Gaynor, I need to get a stick. I love your marks with the stick, also inspired by the color pallet this week, beautiful greens and rust. Thanks again for your Thursday video, so fun. Also amazed at the dye you used for your linen jacket, wow.
Inspiring as usual dear gaynor 🌟 im off for a weeks solitude this monday coming ❤ a caravan on a beach on the east coast ... this episode got the creative juices flowing for sure ...love the smalls ❤💙💚 colours 😊 have a joyful weekend
I always have a problem with acrylic boards warping. How do I stop that. I've tried putting under heavy books, but they still don't lie flat. Is it the quality of the board?
Put paint on the back side to equal the tension of the paint. Surfaces like thin wood and paper will usually curve up on the side which is glued or painted.
